-- WWE wrestler Chris Jericho said on Friday night that TMZ cameras tried to film Jericho at a "Fozzy" promotional appearance in New York City, but he kicked them out.

"Just had the TMZ camera kicked out of the Fozzy Instore. Sorry no footage tonight gossip girls," Jericho said on Twitter.

TMZ has not posted a story on trying to catch up with Jericho, but it's apparent they were trying to get Jericho to comment on Wednesday morning's arrest that became a hot item in entertainment news this week.

-- Former WWE wrestler JBL talked about Chris Jericho and Gregory Helms's arrest, saying he understands why it became big news, but he doesn't believe they harmed anyone with their mistake.

"I understand why this is news - Chris Jericho and my boy Hurricane Helms are on a TV show that is watched by hundreds of millions of people around the globe-getting arrested is big news even if it is a minor deal," JBL said. "But come on - there were no drugs and both guys were smart enough to plan not to drive while under the influence. ... Just a few too many and in the wrong place at the wrong time."

Read JBL's blog on Facebook.

-- WWE announcer Jim Ross added more of his opinion to the Jericho & Helms arrest story, saying he recognizes the wrestlers made "unwanted and unnecessary headlines," but they were not in serious violation of the law.

"It wasn't the smartest thing that I've read about recently but that's what often occurs when drinking booze goes from moderation to excess," Ross said. "Key thing is to learn from one's mistakes as many of us have been guilty of using bad judgment. Thank goodness no one was DUI."

Caldwell's Analysis: JBL and Jim Ross have seen some wild, crazy, alcohol-fueled events during their respective careers in the wrestling business far worse than Helms and Jericho "play fighting" in the back of a cab and accidentally striking a female passenger. The story seems rather tame compared to what Ross and JBL have seen and experienced. The key is that everyone seems to recognize a mistake was made in the situation by mixing the late hour, a long night after a TV taping, and alcohol. A lesson was hopefully learned from Wednesday morning's embarrassing arrests.
