WWE News: Honky Tonk Man says why he turned down Hall of Fame induction, goes off on WWE VP John Laurinaitis

Honky Tonk Man (Roy Farris) says he turned down an invite to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame at this year's WrestleMania because he had a prior commitment to a Wizard World convention, WWE wanted him to sign a "no-compete" that would have caused him to cancel future convention appearances, and he is upset about WWE VP of Talent Relations John Lauriniatis's business practices.

Farris posted several items defending his decision to turn down the Hall of Fame invite, including his claim that he had seven upcoming Wizard World appearances and he would have had to cancel all of them due to WWE's no-compete, which would have cost him money and could have hurt his potential to get booked at future conventions.

"Wizard has HTM booked for 7 events this year and WWE had only 1 event for HTM. HTM would have suffered a serious negative cash flow by taking the WWE booking since they want a 'no compete' clause over several months after the HOF," Farris said. "The dollar figure from WWE for the one event was less than HTM could make in one weekend at Wizard World. Therefore HTM decided 7 dates with Wizard would mean 10 times the money WWE was offering and Wizard does not have a 'no compete' clause."

Farris also expressed his dislike for how Laurinaitis treated him at WrestleMania 25, where he made an appearance to induct Koko B. Ware into the WWE Hall of Fame. Farris claims he wasn't reimbursed for a rental car, wasn't given a parking pass at the official hotel, and was ignored when he asked for an official t-shirt and cap from WM25.

Farris's webmaster published an email Farris sent to Laurinaitis regarding this year's Hall of Fame and WrestleMania, which will be held where Farris lives in the Phoenix area.

"I suppose everyone else who does not live here and they are part of HOF will get First Class tickets, Limo service, nice hotel, and food per diem. According to you, I could make my own way to the event. You can blow me," Farris said. "You wanted to F' my family out of a first class vacation that you give to others who do not live in the town where HOF is held. When I mentioned to you that I would do PR work in Phoenix to promote this event, you never called me, instead you paid 3 guys air fare, and hotel to do what I was willing to do for free. Hope your stock holders read this."

Farris made a splash earlier this week when he claimed he was close to signing with TNA. Farris says that's when Laurinaitis contacted him about a Hall of Fame induction this year.
