WWE announcer Jim Ross offered his commentary on last night's Raw after skipping last week's unmentionable effort and updated his health related to returning to WWE TV in a new blog today on jrsbarbq.com.

-- Ross suggested Steve Austin and "The Rock" Dwayne Johnson could be in line for future guest hosting roles following Bret Hart's footsteps.

"I don't have an answer to that question but I do feel that both men will eventually return to Raw in either the guest G.M. capacity or another role that provides them a "one off' opportunity to entertain their fans and to promote what it is that they are involved...likely their films," Ross said.

Johnson said several weeks ago he was working on a project with WWE beyond just guest-hosting an episode of Raw, but Johnson hasn't added new information since the interview. Read the interview.

-- Ross said his long-term health continues to be an issue after several more medical evaluations, which continues to be a factor in determining a schedule where he can return to WWE TV without jeopardizing his health.

"Bottom line, I am hopeful that my health continues to improve and that I am able to return to ringside sooner than later," he said. "Whether that is weekly, monthly or some other combination thereof is still to be determined but I am determined to get back in the game."

-- Ross evaluated Raw as one of the better episodes recently with the Bret Hart focus for January 4.

"The Bret Hart content on Monday Night Raw really added to the overall viewing experience of the program," Ross said. "I watched the show from start to finish and I felt like it was one of the better Raw broadcasts WWE has presented in several weeks."

-- Ross said he viewed Timbaland as virtually non-existent on the show as the guest host. "Timbaland is a major player in the music industry but he sort of came and went Monday night in Hartford," Ross said. "I think the festivities of the evening especially the return next week of Bret Hart made the genius, music producer feel like he just stopped by, had a cup of coffee and hopped back into his limo."
