Former WWE and WCW World Hvt. champion Bill Goldberg says he would not work for WWE again based on how he feels he was treated during his brief stint in WWE culminating with his final match against Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 20 in 2004.

The match-up between Goldberg and Lesnar was a potential dream match, but both men were on their way out of WWE after disputes with management. The match was slotted in the middle of the PPV card and memorably ended with guest referee Steve Austin giving a Stunner to both Goldberg and Lesnar.

"I wanted to get the hell of dodge. I had fulfilled my obligation; I saw how they set us up, and I was done. To say I wanted to hang around for one more second was a farce, I wanted to get the hell out, and Brock wanted to get the hell out too," Goldberg said on the Monday Night Mayhem Radio show.

Goldberg added that he had become tired of "drama" in WWE. He says backstage politics held him back and he feels he could have been a more viable money-making act for WWE.

"I was so frustrated with the past year and so frustrated with the BS drama that goes on at that crappy place, and I think Brock was pretty fed up with all the stuff that was going on," he said. "I personally believe that since it is a business, and it isn't a business dealing with personal feelings, and it's all about making the most money, I think they dropped the ball."

In 2004, the Torch reported WWE's perspective was that they did not see Goldberg as a long-term money act based on his limited speaking skills and in-ring ability.

"Goldberg's departure isn't based on differences in number of dates each wants in the contract, money, or even creative issues. It has to do with Goldberg's heart not being into pro wrestling," the Torch reported. "WWE management wants to invest their time and energies into somebody they can count on to fill TV time and have good payoff matches."
