Politico, the political news agency whose reports are read by insiders in Washington, D.C., published a lengthy story on Monday evening with former WWE wrestlers discrediting recent WWE CEO Linda McMahon's Senate campaign based on her job performance overseeing WWE's operations.

Politico interviewed former WWWF champions Bruno Sammartino and "Superstar" Billy Graham, Larry Zbyszko, Marc Mero, Blue Meanie, and former WWE wrestler Chyna (Joanie Laurer) to focus on the lack of health care provided to wrestlers, the over-the-top content of WWE TV shows prior to shifting to PG-TV, and the perceived tough conditions for pro wrestlers to make a living under WWE's watch.

Former WWE and ECW wrestler Blue Meanie painted a picture of WWE executives being callous by "shipping wrestlers here and there" to perform for WWE crowds as if the wrestlers were interchangeable parts in the WWE machine.

"Sometimes you wondered if they saw their employees as humans or farm animals,” Meanie said. “It was like being in the circus. You’re shipped here, perform there; it’s almost like you're disposable."

WWE argued in the story that they "paid wrestlers enough" to be able to afford health insurance. WWE has also begun offering classes and tutorials to wrestlers on "life development, personal finance, and health education."

There were other topics covered in Politico's story, including wrestlers cutting themselves with razors to bleed, wrestlers acknowledging they would not receive health insurance when signing a WWE contract, and a possible political firestorm if McMahon's Republican opponent, Rob Simmons, is found to be rallying former WWE wrestlers, such as "Superstar" Graham, against McMahon.

Graham says he's just speaking out against McMahon who he says is running a campaign "at the height of hypocrisy."

"I believe the voters and citizens in Connecticut deserve to be told the truth," Graham said. "In no way does she have a rightful place in the U.S. Senate. The fact that we were out there experiencing trauma and drawing in untold millions for the company [means] we should have at least had some sort of health insurance."
