Regarding the Randy Orton vs. John Cena "Iron Man" match set for the Bragging Right's PPV, Jim Ross wrote today in his latest blog at jrsbarbq.com:

"Orton vs. Cena in an Ironman Match is my kind of party. I just wish I could help call it. I love time limits and the scoring system. Makes the contest feel more like an athletic event of which I personally like. IF this is this pair's last dance then I expect them to rock it for the duration and provide us fans with a compelling story. This match could be a great way to end this rivalry if that is the objective."

Keller's Analysis: I wouldn't say I'm sick of Orton vs. Cena matches, as they're all pretty damn good. I wouldn't say I'm sick of seeing Orton and Cena hype their latest PPV matches, either, as they're both good on the mic, and watching Orton develop into one of the best communicators in the industry's history, especially with facial expressions and body language, is a real pleasure. The problem is that I don't enjoy anything good if it's repeated over and over (a good meal, a funny episode of TV show, a classic movie). Variety is important, and I believe the political philosophy keeping Orton and Cena married this long is flawed. I think Cena and Orton are big enough stars on their own to elevate just about anybody they work with, and there are solid candidates out there for PPV matches that WWE has already bypassed (such as Cena-Miz, Cena-Matt Hardy, Orton-Kingston, Cena-Swagger, Orton-MVP). All of that said, if you're going to conclude this epic Orton-Cena feud, the way to do it is a 60 minute Iron Man match that promises (and keeps its promise) of being the last match between these two.

As for Ross's comment about wanting to be the announcer, I'm with him on that. No offense to Michael Cole and Jerry Lawler, but the Iron Man format is made for Ross's style. I think it'd enhance the magnitude of the match if they actually switched out announcers during the match, with Cole & Lawler calling the first half and Ross & Todd Grisham calling the last half. It'd be kind of corny, but also effective, to convey that this match is exhausting not just for wrestlers, but even the announcers, who would be worn out calling 60 straight minutes without a break.
