-- Pro wrestling author Irv Muchnick has a new column looking at the "skeletons in the WWE closet" that could affect Linda McMahon's Senate bid once her opponents start looking for information to use against her.

McMahon will have to account for WWE's market dominance in the "fake sport" that "has seen literally hundreds of performers drop dead under age 50," Muchnick argues.

Considering McMahon is an outsider challenging career politicians who have their reputations at stake in the Connecticut Senate race, Muchnick says her opponents "have plenty of mud to sling around and make it even more interesting."

Muchnick also details possible indiscretions by WWE when they were being investigated by the federal government in the 1990s for their ties to steroid distribution that could come up during Linda McMahon's run. Read the rest of Muchnick's column.

-- Related to the political side of Linda's Senate race, TheHill.com has a story on Linda McMahon's campaign contributions favoring the Democratic party rather than her own Republican party. Linda has defended that public report in TV interviews. She says WWE contributed to both parties as a publicly-traded company when she was CEO.

The stumbling block, though, could be McMahon contributing money to the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee in 2006 when two Republican Senators from Connecticut were voted out of office.

"A local blog did an analysis that suggested that the contributions, on a dollars-per-vote basis, more than paid for former Rep. Rob Simmons’s (R-Conn.) 83-vote loss," The Hill reports.
