WWE/ROH News: Another top ROH star signs deal with WWE Sep 4, 2009 - 10:00:30 AM
Ring of Honor issued a press release this morning announcing that Nigel McGuinness has signed a contract with WWE.
McGuinness, along with Bryan Danielson, is still scheduled for all of his ROH dates on the East Coast before joining WWE.
Caldwell's Analysis: When Danielson signed with WWE on Summerslam weekend, Sean Radican and I talked about Nigel being next to go. He's at that point in his wrestling career where he either gets one shot at the big time in WWE or he winds down due to injuries and the accumulation of physical abuse he's put his body through working a demanding in-ring style.
I'll put my fantasy booking cap on for a second that Nigel would be a natural fit in the Ruthless Roundtable with William Regal before he pulls a "Rock in the Nation of Domination" and breaks out as the top star before working a dream program against Regal. Meanwhile, babyface Bryan Danielson comes in as Christian and Tommy Dreamer's new sidekick and WWE puts him in a position to break-out. Soon, we have one of ROH's top feuds in Danielson vs. Nigel on the big stage in WWE. And...remove fantasy booking cap.
