WWE road agent/producer Arn Anderson says WWE is pushing wrestlers onto TV who aren't ready or who can't handle the pressure of being national TV stars. Anderson says WWE doesn't have the luxury of holding off on bringing up talent to the main roster, though.

"These kids are being put out there - some before they're ready because we have to. Shortage of talent. Some are being put out there when they're ready, but still the pressure is ungodly," Anderson told Bruce Snyder in an interview on FOX Charlotte's "Got Game" over the weekend. "The pressures of that today and the media pressures and all the things they have to do without as much experience as we had, they're at a bit of a disadvantage."

Anderson made the comment about young talent when asked about the difference between his era in the 1980s when wrestlers were brought onto national TV compared to this era when the talent is much younger.

"We put in a lot of years and a lot of time. Before the first time we walked on WWF TV, we were seasoned veterans," Anderson said. "We had a distinct advantage in the fact that we were older. Before you would even get a crack at then-WWF, you had to be a veteran, the best at what you did, and you had to be what was considered a future possible Hall of Famer / All-Star."

Anderson gave advice to today's aspiring wrestlers to "get in the gym" because it's a "cosmetic business" and gain experience with smaller companies before joining WWE. He essentially said WWE is the only show in town, which could be viewed as a jab to TNA.

"You do whatever you have to do to put yourself in a position to get your foot in the door with WWE," Anderson said. "There is one big company and there are a couple of smaller options. Experience is the key because when you walk in the door and crawl in the ring, you're going to be judged on what you know."

Anderson also promoted the NWA Legends Fanfest scheduled for this weekend in Charlotte where Anderson, Ric Flair, Tully Blanchard, Ole Anderson, and J.J. Dillon are scheduled for an Original Four Horsemen reunion.

Anderson said being associated with the Horsemen turned him into a star when he was just a rookie "bringing up the rear" behind Flair, Tully, and Ole.

Anderson's full interview, including his thoughts on the "art of the promo" are in the Got Game interview below.
