WWE News: Quarterly WWE Raw TV ratings report - Comparing January-March to April-June "WM25 + KFC gimmick" season Jul 5, 2009 - 8:00:08 PM
WWE's second quarter 2009 (April to June) Raw TV ratings dropped a miniscule 0.4 percent compared to the first quarter of the year from January to March. The difference in TV viewership was 1.0 percent in favor of the first quarter.
The second quarter reflected tremendous ups and downs for WWE's flagship show. April delivered a strong average TV rating of 3.77 for WrestleMania season fall-out. That was followed by the weakest month of the year with a 3.35 rating in May. "KFC Chicken Gimmick month" in June then delivered the strongest monthly ratings of the year with an average of 3.87.
Add it up and the second quarter averaged a 3.66 rating. The first quarter was more even, ranging from a low of 3.59 in January to a high of 3.81 to February. Overall, the first quarter averaged a 3.67 rating, creating the 0.4 percent difference.
The estimated TV viewership was similarly close. The first quarter averaged 5.41 million viewers for Raw on a weekly basis. The second quarter averaged 5.36 million viewers.
