Jamie Noble appeared to have suffered a neck injury during his loss to Mike Knox on last night's edition of WWE Raw. He was then taken away by medical staff during the next segment involving Chris Jericho and Ricky Steamboat.

Watching a replay of the match's conclusion, it's apparent the injury occurred when there was a miscommunication on a big boot from Mike Knox.

In the final moments of the match, Noble bounced off the ropes, then Knox delivered a big boot to the head. Noble appeared to adjust just before Knox's boot approached and he exposed the top of his head directly to the blow.

Noble slumped to the mat and the referee immediately dropped down to check on Noble from a few feet away, but within talking distance.

Knox then scooped up Noble by the neck and Noble's arms flung like a ragdoll. Knox delivered his Knox Out finisher, which slammed Noble's face underneath Knox's arm into the mat.

Knox rolled up Noble for the decisive pin and Noble slumped back to the mat. Knox leaned over Noble, apparently realizing something wasn't right. He lingered over Noble, whose mouth was moving to communicate with Knox.

Maintaining his "mean bully" heel gimmick, Knox went back and forth between concern for Noble and showing toughness for the camera. It's an interesting watching the dichotomy of Knox's human side battling his professional obligation.

Torch correspondent Steven Shreve wrote that the incident was "pretty scary and quite surreal." In the segment that followed with Jericho and Steamboat, Steven says "it was difficult to put any attention into either happening - on one hand, it was freakin' Ricky Steamboat cutting a promo on Jericho. On the other hand, there was a man who might seriously be injured being stretchered off as secretly as possible."
