WWE News: CEO Linda McMahon granted unprecedented access to information about kids audience Jan 12, 2009 - 9:51:52 AM
WWE CEO Linda McMahon was named to the Connecticut state Board of Education today, with governor M. Jodi Rell making the official announcement.
McMahon has been added to the 12-person Board and will help oversee state policies that determine public education for Connecticut state students.
"Linda clearly understands the skills and education needed to succeed in business and the type of highly educated and skilled workforce that must be available to ensure that success," governor Rell said in statement.
Caldwell's Analysis: Not that I'm suggesting any potential conflict of interest, but Linda McMahon will have unprecedented access to information on a very specific focus group of children that makes up a significant portion of WWE's audience, even if chairman Vince McMahon wants to call it a "small percentage."
Putting that aside, it's an opportunity for Linda to present WWE in a positive light by helping encourage advancement in public school education, and give back to the community in a necessary way as part of WWE's corporate responsibility.
