D.H. Smith (Harry Smith), the son of Davey Boy Smith, was suspended for 30 days by WWE following a Wellness Violation a little over one year ago. Following the suspension, Smith was off WWE TV prior to returning to the basics in Florida at WWE's developmental program.

Smith says taking one step back allowed him to re-focus, mature, and develop skills to be ready for when he makes the next jump back to the main roster in WWE.

"When I first get started with WWE on some dark matches and house shows, I was like 20, 21," Smith told Jim Varsallone in the Miami Herald. "It was definitely a very good experience, but at the same time I wasn't really ready."

Smith says he's been working on his promos and how to showcase his personality while in Florida so he'll be ready when he's called back up. "I've been able to not only hone my craft in the ring but work on my personality as well," Smith said. "I look forward to going up to the main roster again."

Smith says it was his call to return to developmental because he wanted to put the right effort into his training. He thinks eventually he'll be better than the other second-or-third-generation wrestlers, such as Ted DiBiase, Jr., Manu, Cody Rhodes, and Curt Hennig's son, who is in developmental.

"This may sound kind of brash, but I think that I'm better than all of them," Smith said. "Joe Hennig is good. Ted DiBiase Jr. has certainly worked hard enough to get to his position, but they aren't from the dungeon."

Smith admits being the son of Davey Smith and having the Hart family legacy behind him has helped him get his foot in the door whereas he probably wouldn't have received the opportunity. As a result, he's looking to take advantage of his opportunity in WWE.

"I feel I have great ability, but there's no question being a member of the Hart family has helped me land a job here," he said. "I'm not sure what the fans are going to think. Are they going to compare me to him? Are they going to think, 'Oh, yeah, he's all right, but he will never be as good as his dad.' Being a part of my family does help, but at the same time you really have to step it up."

Caldwell's Analysis: It will be very interesting to see what changes we see from Smith when he returns to the main roster. It sounds like the call-up is inevitable, but he may want to stick around in Florida a while longer to continue working. He's young and has plenty of time ahead of him that he doesn't want to turn into Kenny Dykstra, who was brought up early and WWE never utilized his talents after the Spirit Squad run to the point where he wasn't put in a position to contribute.
