Mr. Kennedy hopes to return to WWE at the end of February 2009 once the rehabilitation of his shoulder is complete per Dr. James Andrews's timetable. Kennedy says the rehab is going well, but there isn't a lot he can do with his arm while at home rehabbing.

"It's slow going - there's not a whole lot I can do right now," Kennedy told Brian Fritz for the Orlando Sentinel. "I'm going to see Dr. Andrews and he's going to give me an update and tell me how he wants me to start progressing my rehabilitation. He initially had told the office that I would be looking at a February 28 return date if everything goes well."

Kennedy says he never had injury problems while on the independent wrestling scene prior to joining WWE after years of trying to get his foot in the door. He doesn't blame the WWE schedule, as he says his injuries were fluke accidents or his own mistakes, but the accumulative effect of wrestling four days per week causes wrestlers to wear down.

"Our schedule is a lot tougher than the independent schedule since we wrestle anywhere from three to seven days a week," Kennedy said. "Seven days a week when we do our overseas tour and, so, it's just one of those things. The human body is not meant to be abused like that day in and day out."

Kennedy also commented on Steve Austin, who he says has mentored him through tape-study to help him improve in the ring.

"I've had a couple opportunities to sit down and watch my match with him," Kennedy said. "He picks apart minor details that mean so much that the normal viewer can't quite put their finger on but would mean so much more if that little piece of the puzzle was there. That's kind of the stuff that he helps me with - picking apart my matches and finding those little, minor details that make the match that much better."
