WWE News: Best Randy Orton quotes ever - says he hated his entrance music; played Wii to recover from injury

By James Caldwell, PWTorch columnist

Randy Orton doesn't pull punches in interviews, even a basic interview about his favorite video games, such as "Paper Mario" or "LEGO Indiana Jones" to promote the Smackdown vs. Raw 2009 video game that came out this week.

Orton can still find a way to generate a buzz-worthy quote. This time, it's about his previous entrance music, "Gonna Burn in the Light" that was associated with the trademark arms-extended pose.

"For the longest time, I had the 'Burning My Light' or whatever the entrance music was that started with 'Hey, nothing you can say,' and I hated that shit for all four years," Orton told gamedaily.com. "I hated it from the first day I heard it."

Orton says he went to Vince McMahon and TV producer Kevin Dunn to change it, but they only added a few tweaks, leaving him with the same song he hated for four years.

"Finally, I gave them a CD and said that I wanted this music, so they bought the song and they played it for two weeks until Vince said it didn't fit my character," Orton said. "The following week, C.M. Punk debuted and they gave him my music."

Regarding his current theme music with the voices counseling him, Orton says he hated that song initially too, but it's grown on him after some tweaks. "For two months, I kept hearing that I'd get it next week. Finally, I heard it and I hated it. The second time I listened to it, the song grew on me and now I like it."

Related to video games, Orton says he played Wii to help recover from his collarbone injury as a therapeutic release.

"Any movement I could do with my left arm for my collarbone was great," Orton said. "First I thought I wasn't good enough, because I couldn't lift the controller, but eventually it got to a point where that stuff's really helpful."

Caldwell's Analysis: Orton is always good for an interview quote because he's one of those WWE wrestlers who just doesn't care what anyone else thinks of his opinion and he can get away with it. Rip the entrance music? Go for it. Rip OVW? Not a problem.
