WWE News: Chris Jericho won't let his kids watch some WWE programming; discusses Raw in Tampa tonight Nov 3, 2008 - 12:39:46 PM
Chris Jericho is now residing in Tampa, Fla., where the three-hour WWE Raw will take place tonight to celebrate 800 episodes of Raw on TV. Jericho says it's more of a hassle living where Raw is taking place because everyone wants tickets, "but it's fun to perform in front of your family."
He says he won't let his young kids watch some segments of WWE programming, but he acknowledges WWE taking steps to clean up programming for a more suitable "family and kids" demographic.
"There's certain elements that I won't let them watch," he told the St. Petersburg Times. "Plus, nowadays it's very PG-13, especially with John Cena and other guys who are kind of heroes to kids."
He continued: "The WWE always mutates with what evolves in society, and now it's more of a kid-friendly product. If you'll notice in the last year you won't hear swear words, won't see any blood."
Jericho was also asked about the "Redemption Song" show that debuted last week and how he prepared for it. He said being in WWE prepared him for the role, as WWE is like a "show biz boot camp" learning how to be a performer to a live and televised audience.
FYI: WWE's developmental territory is housed in Tampa, which means some of the developmental wrestlers will probably get some work in the ring prior to Raw for dark matches. Jericho has appeared at Florida Championship Wrestling TV tapings in the past to help promote the developmental territory in the Tampa area.
