WWE News: Lance Cade released from WWE and Ross reports why Oct 16, 2008 - 12:59:21 PM
WWE announced on its website on Tuesday that Lance Cade has been released from the company. They did not provide further explanation, prompting speculation it was due to poor in-ring performances, especially on TV.
Jim Ross reported on his jrsbarbq.com blog yesterday that Cade was released due to a personal incident on a flight. "Lance Cade was dismissed from the WWE because, like many humans, he made a major league mistake while utilizing bad judgment that cost him his job," Ross said.
Ross detailed an incident where Cade appeared to suffer a seizure on a recent flight and medical care was required. Raw ring announcer Lillian Garcia was fortunately present to assist Cade to a medical facility upon landing.
Based on the information presented by Ross in his report and WWE subsequently releasing Cade, there is a conclusion to be drawn that it was not a medical condition that suddenly caused the seizure, but a clear violation of WWE's Wellness Policy.
"A battery of tests were run that luckily determined that there was nothing seriously wrong with the young man such as a brain tumor," said Ross. "Everyone makes mistakes, Lord knows I have made plenty in my career, but in this day and time some mistakes just simply can't be condoned. ... Under the circumstances of the situation, I don't know what other decision the WWE could have made."
