7/7 WWE Raw HOLT report: What the live crowd saw that the TV viewers didn't including D-Lo, DiBiase, Duggan Jul 8, 2008 - 1:06:59 AM
WWE Raw HOLT report
July 7, 2008
New Orleans, La.
Report by Blair Bagal of Dutchtown, La., PWTorch reader
DARK MATCH
(1) Hacksaw Duggan beat Matt Stryker in a 1980s-style match
(2) Team Priceless$$$ defeated Paul London & D-Lo Brown in a really good tag match that went 15-20 minutes. Very good match.
AFTER THE SHOW
Cena said that New Orleans did not deserve an ending like that and that he was proud to call NOLA home for five months and that the people treated him like one of their own. He called JBL a jackass and told him to come out.
JBL came out and cut a classic heel promo (dis the hometown).
Cena then squashed JBL in about 2 minutes (got a big pop from the crowd)
BIGGEST POPS
1. John Cena (by far, was insanely over)
2. Batista
3. C.M. Punk
4. Rey Mysterio Jr.
4.(tie) HBK
MOST HEEL HEAT
1. JBL
2. Vickie Guerrero
FINAL THOUGHTS
The show came across very good live with the crowd into the show the whole night.
John Cena was insanely over and had easily as strong of a reaction as anyone I've ever heard live tonight (including Steve Austin and Goldberg). Even though a few people may feel he sounded dorky, the live crowd ate it up and went nuts every time he did anything. Definitely came across really good to the live crowd.
Crowd didn't get into Snitsky as no one really believed he would defeat Punk.
Most of the crowd left after Batista won thinking that the show was over. Only about half of the crowd was left for the dark match between Cena and JBL.
Everyone seemed extremely pleased leaving the arena.
