-Matt Hardy posted at his message board at his website, TheMattHardy.com, a response to the ECW PPV and his name being mentioned. He wrote: What's up everyone? I got about 50 calls tonight from people buzzing me on the ECW crowd being all over Adam's @ss about me and the Paul E plug. After reading a couple of reviews of the show, it reminded me of why I loved ECW so much back in the day. Spontaneity. Controversy. Not being afraid to break from "the formula." A lot of truth and honesty rolled into the "entertainment" aspect of pro wrestling. Regardless of how predetermined or not Paul's two (or three) words were - "Matt frickin' Hardy," I respect him and thank him for going there. It popped me when I heard. Paul Heyman is a truly amazing individual when it comes down to him having his fingers on the pulse of the product. I respect his contributions to the business and wrestling mind greatly. I also respect the f*ck out of the New York fans--more specifically, the more educated, can't be insulted, we'll call you out on your feces fans. When it comes to performing, there's nowhere like NYC and the New Yorkers. As always, I thank everyone for their support--be well.
-PWTorch.com reader Eric DeVries attended the ECW PPV in person and adds these HOLT notes: A very hot crowd. I have not seen a crowd this rowdy, vocal and into a show in many years. I started laughing prior to the "Lita's got Herpes" chant because prior to that was "I f*****ed Lita" which got a "oh really" look from Edge. I'm not sure how far crowds have gone throughout the country in taunting Edge or Lita, but that went pretty far to me. When you have an ENTIRE building of fans chanting, it made it seem that much more "extreme." Not seeing the PPV, I'm not sure how far the bleeping and/or muffled crowd noises went. If I'm right (not sure if they mentioned it on the broadcast) when Sandman poured the beer on the woman, it was Electra. A few members of the production team, Electra, C.W. Anderson, and Chris Chetti were stting in that area.
-According to Paul Bearer himself at his website, PercyPringle.com, he has signed a new contract with WWE. It is part of the WWE's Legend Program and will allow WWE to market Paul Bearer with his book, WWE 24/7, DVDs, and the most important among many collectors, a WWE Classic Superstars Action Figure. He may also be making apperances for the company and autographs, etc. [Thanks to PWTorch.com reader Tyler Deal]
