Answers to yesterday's question

Which sentence in this quote from Vince McMahon's press conference after the Jan. 27, 1997 Raw in Toronto at the SkyDome was just made up by me. The rest are real.

(a) "I am not one to knock competition, but if you look at the level of caliber and respect of competition in the WWF, you will see that every major star (WCW) has used to be in the WWF..."

(b) "Of course, there is a reason why they are not here. They are slowing down. They are much older and to their credit they got a billionaire who is willing to lose tons and tons of money throwing cash at them. That's okay..."

(c) "I would have preferred that it worked out a little differently. If I could wave a magic wand, I would have preferred that Hulk Hogan or Randy Savage would have remained here as icons in the WWF like Babe Ruth or Mickey Mantle have to baseball..."

(d) "But I could not give them what they were looking for because it's tough for a superstar to recognize it's time to take a half step back and let the youngsters move up. That's life. I believe in the law of the jungle. I believe in competition. I believe in every epic struggle, always the younger, bigger, stronger, and faster survive. That will happen..."

(e) "I don't compete in the ring, but it will happen to me one day, when I can't think, when I can't move around and have the stamina that I have now. That will happen to me, but I hope that it's my son that gobbles me up. He is sharpening his teeth now, I think, but it will be a little while..."

(f) "When he does take over for me, I will say this. He has big shoes to fill. I don't know if he's up to it. If he's not, my daughter is surely up for the job. She's at least as ruthless as I am, and I love her for it. But the job is my son's for the taking, because he's older and he's a man."
