ROH Newswire

ROH returned to Montreal on April 17 for a show built around a six-man tag match featuring Kevin Steen & El Generico & Bryan Danielson taking on Sylvain Grenier & Davey Richards & Eddie Edwards. The match was promoted locally with Steen and Grenier, who is a color commentator on a sports network in Montreal having a war of words on local television. The show drew approximately 450 fans.

The undercard saw Chris Hero beat Franky The Mobster after hitting him in the throat with an foreign object behind the ref's back, Daizee Haze beat LuFisto in what was called one of the best matches on the first half of the card, and Rhett Titus & Kenny King beat The Necro Butcher & Delirious via DQ after Necro nailed Titus with a chairshot in what was called a disappointing match given the finish.

Other action saw Tyler Black beat Jimmy Jacobs in a grudge match that was said to have lacked the intensity is should have and the crowd responded in kind by sitting on their hands. The action was fine, but it didn't match the tone of their current feud. In a Four Corner Survival match Kenny Omega pinned Austin Aries. The match also included Jay Briscoe and Roderick Strong. The match was short, but it was said to have been one of the best matches on the cards.

In the semi-main event Claudio Castagnoli & Jimmy Rave beat Colt Cabana & Brent Albright due to outside interference from Prince Nana. The crowd threw toilet paper at Rave upon his entrance. The main event saw Kevin Steen & El Generico & Bryan Danielson beat Sylvain Grenier & Davey Richards & Eddie Edwards in a long match that went over 20 minutes. The match was built around a lot of comedy with Richards and Edwards wearing Boston Bruins jerseys while making their entrances. The heels also took turns badly singing the US National Anthem. The match saw Grenier avoid Steen for most of the match with Richards and Edwards spending the bulk of the time on the outside in what was described as a good, but not great main event.
