The pre-taped July 31 edition of "WCW Saturday Night" opened with Jesse Ventura interviewing Bobby Eaton & Chris Benoit about their loss to The Cole Twins on last week's program.
(1) Too Cold Scorpio & Marcus Bagwell defeated Cuban Top Gunn & Big Sky... Tony Schiavone & Jesse Ventura interviewed Paul Orndorff about his scheduled TV Title defense against Rick Steamboat. Steamboat confronted him with a t-shirt with "Paula" spelled on it which drove Orndorff berserk.
(2) Ron Simmons came out for his squash match as Steamboat and Orndorff watched at ringside. After Simmons threw his opponent out of the ring, Steamboat threw Orndorff into the ring and moments later Steamboat counted Orndorff's shoulders to the mat after a ref bump.
Highlights of Ric Flair's NWA Title win over Barry Windham were shown. Flair then did an interview as Fifi stood next to him holding the NWA belt... Schiavone interviewed Johnny B. Badd.
(3) Paul Roma won a squash... Dustin Rhodes teased Ventura about possibly revealing who his mystery partner will be. After Ventura kissed up to Rhodes for a few minutes, buttering him, Rhodes said, "Not today."
(4) Lord Steven Regal won a squash. In a post-match interview, Tex Slazenger & Shanghai Pierce touched Regal, which caused Regal to demand a bath.
(5) The Colossal Kongs defeated Tom Zenk & Johnny Gunn.
(6) Rick Rude & Equalizer won a squash... Ice Train's victory from Thursday in Calhoun, Ga. aired... Thunderbolt Patterson did pre- and post-match interviews.
(7) Slazenger & Pierce defeated Keith & Kent Cole as Bobby Eaton & Chris Benoit watched the long match. Slazenger & Pierce said they were ready for the Hollywood Blondes.
(8) Sid Vicious won a squash.
(9) Maxx Payne pinned Badd after Orndorff hit Badd with a foreign object. Steamboat made the save with a chair to conclude the program.
