PWTORCH YEAR-END VOTING 12/30: Torch readers submit nominations for 2008 Best PPV/Event of the year Dec 30, 2008 - 2:04:51 PM
The PPV that stands out from 2008 is WrestleMania 24 from Orlando, specifically Ric Flair's retirement match against Shawn Michaels. But, there were many other PPVs and events from 2008 that are worth year-end voting consideration.
What were the other memorable PPVs or events, such as the Slammys Raw or Raw Draft or TNA Global Impact, that should be considered for the Best PPV/Event of 2008?
Torch readers, here's your chance to nominate the event that stood out in your mind as the Best PPV/Event of 2008 and should be included on the year-end polls for readers to vote on.
Submit a pick (or two) for the category and briefly explain yourself either by emailing pwtorch@gmail.com (recommended for PWTorch App and Mobile users) or adding your response in the "Comment" section below.
Year-End Awards Voting schedule
12/31 - Best Feud of the Year nominations open
1/1 through 1/4 - Readers submit nominations for each category
Show of the year was WrestleMania XXIV. Runner up was Armageddon-almost
all quality matches, I'm talking to you Rey Mysterio vs. CM Punk, with a
great finish.

It's so easy to say that Wrestlemania XXIV was the event of the year, but
really it was the spectacle of the whole event that was memorable, save for
HBK/Flair and MITB. If I had to pick one event from this past year, it's No
Mercy because both main events were superb.

Wrestlemania but some notable mention should go to Tna's November ppv(Final
Resolution?)it had a show Stealing match (Abyss Vs Angle) along with a
shockingly good Nash Vs Joe match as well as a terrific Beer Money Vs MCMG
match. Sting Vs Sting was somewhat disapointing but still pretty good.

I think few would argue that Wrestlemania XXIV was the greatest wrestling
event of the year.
