By Wade Keller, Torch editor

Send anything pro wrestling related (news, mainstream media mentions, newspaper article links, obscure wrestling references, oddball wrestling-related items, etc. to the Torch News Link (and cc: to James Caldwell for his First Word early morning update) for inclusion in the Torch Today blog. When this page is updated, it will move to the top of the PWTorch Main Listing.

Updated Friday, Feb. 23 at 9:30 a.m.

---Donald Trump appeared on the Imus in the Morning program on WFAN in New York and MSNBC. PWTorch.com reader Agahzi Giorgis of Somerset, N.J. writes: He promoted his WrestleMania match with Vince, calling Vince "a great guy." Trump said Vince agreed to give a lot of money to charity. He said WM is totally sold out and that 100,000 people will be in attendance. When Imus asked him who his wreslter was, he told him it was a guy named "Lindsey" in reference to Lashley. Imus tried to get Trump to say it was fixed, but Donald chose his words carefully and put over the wrestlers as great athletes. He referred to "Lindsey" as a black gentleman who is the strongest guy he's ever seen. Overall a good job promoting WM except for not getting Lashley's name right.

---PWTorch.com reader Drew Hicks also heard Trump on Imus and he writes: I happened to be up early this morning, Friday and Donald Trump was on MSNBC's "Imus in the Morning" and in the conversation reguarding Donald's "hair vs.. hair" challenge with Vince McMahon, Mr. Trump could not get the name of Bobby Lashley correct. He called Bobby Lashley "Linsey" and Linsey only, no Bobby. You could tell that he was having problems remembering Bobby Lashley's name as he took a few moments to think of him before "Linsey" came out. Good promo for the match for WrestlMmania 23 but it was sad to hear him botch the name! It was also somewhat strange to hear him describe Lashley as "a black gentleman who happens to be the strongest man I have ever seen." Trump also said that a percentage of the earnings from the match are going to charity? Really? Interesting? Trump also claimed that Wrestlemania 23 was already sold out? (He was taught by Ol' J.R. to say that one obviously!)

---Torch VIP member James Beckwith writes: I saw a clip on E! News about the McMahon-Trump match set for WrestleMania. They played video footage of what looked like a press conference although it was hard to tell because there was no sound from the event. Vince had Umaga next to him (of course) and Trump had Bobby Lashley at his side. Also standing in the middle wearing a referee shirt was Steve Austin. The story, as short as it was, focused on the possibility of Trump loosing his hair and did not mention anyone else by name except Vince McMahon.

---Lita (Amy Dumas) will be appearing at Maryland Championship Wrestling event in Baltimore this Sunday, Feb. 25. The event also features Abyss and Alex Shelley.

---WSX is scheduled to return to airwaves this coming Tuesday after not airing this week. The Miami Herald featured a story earlier this week claiming the show didn't air due to concern over the fireball incident which made its way onto YouTube. MTV standards?.

---We're getting near the end the of the first ever PWTorch Blog Bottle. Mike Hatley and Tony von Richter have done a great job kicking off this feature, and it's a close race in voting. The concept is simple. Two PWTorch.com readers volunteer to blog for two weeks and we put up a poll for all PWTorch.com readers to vote each day for the blogger they believe deserves their vote. It's a very close race, within 15 votes right now, and the Blog Battle voting ends on Monday. So vote for your favorite each day between now and Monday (here.
