TNA Impact Flashback
November 5, 2004
Taped in Orlando, Fla.
Report by Wade Keller, PWTorch editor

The Big Story originally published in PWTorch Newsletter #834.

As Mike Tenay previewed the entire Victory Road line-up for Sunday, Jarrett interrupted and brought a ladder with him. He mocked Hardy for being a "rock star" who was late to the show. He said Hardy took an "unexpected detour" and probably won't be at the PPV after all. They then showed a clip of Jarrrett and Petey Williams attacking Hardy in his hotel room. He said the championship committee needs to find a new challenger for him.

Dusty Rhodes came out and said he brought Hardy to TNA, so he was taking Jarrett's attack personally. Hardy then surprised Jarrett from behind and hit him with a ladder. Then he climbed the ladder, but before he could dive off of it, Petey Williams distracted him. Jarrett recovered and shoved Hardy to the floor. A.J. Styles came out to check on him; Hardy was stretchered out.

In the TV main event, Hardy scored a tainted pinfall victory over Jeff Jarrett in a tag match that he wasn't officially part of. Hardy was replaced in the match because he was injured, but then came out in the end to score the pin on Jarrett. It's Hardy vs. Jarrett for the NWA World Title in the PPV main event.

MATCH RESULTS & STAR RATINGS

(1) Johnny B Badd defeated Tony Stadlin at 1:18. Badd has shorter hair than his past national TV stints. he won with a fireman's carry into a TKO.

(2) Abyss defeated Seth Delay at 0:41 with a Black Hole Slam.

(3) James Storm beat Christopher Daniels via DQ at 0:55. They brawled at ringside to start. Prime Time and Chris Harris got involved. The Naturals and Triple X (Daniels & Primetime) then handcuffed Harris to the top turnbuckle. Daniels slapped Harris and taunted him.

(4) Spanky (Brian Kendrick) defeated Matt Sydal and Amazing Red and Kazarian (w/Traci) at 1:43. This was Spanky's TNA debut. Trinity tripped Kazarian setting up Spanky's roll-up pin. Red didn't even wrestle. Vince Russo then told Trinity he had decide who her surprise PPV opponent would be and she wouldn't like it.

(5) Ron "The Truth" Killings & A.J. Styles beat Petey Williams (w/Scott D'Amore) & Jeff Jarrett at 6:36. Hardy was scheduled, but Killings took his place because Hardy was said to be injured. Hardy stormed the ring at the end and pinned Jarrrett after a Swanton Bomb. The ref counted the pin even though Hardy had been removed officially from the match.

OTHER NOTES

A "Tales from the Pit" segment aired with Roddy Piper describing experiences in a rambling fashion that he's had with Andre the Giant, Mr. T. and "a black midget"... There was nothing more with Scott Hall and Kevin Nash. They just aired a brief recap of their two short vignettes that aired the previous two weeks... Shane Douglas interviewed Chris Sabin regarding the order or entry in the X Division Gauntlet Match... Raven cut a promo at what looked to be an abandoned church about his PPV match... Abyss poured thumb tacks in the ring, signalling his intent at the PPV... Douglas interviewed AMW...
