World Wrestling All-Stars "Inception" PPV
October 26, 2001
Sydney, Aus. at the Sydney Superdome

Commentators Jeremy Borash and Jerry Lawler introduced the show, which was broadcast in Australia and New Zealand on PPV as the first PPV event for the WWA promotion in-between the close of WCW and the launch of TNA. The commentators could be heard throughout the building during the broadcast. WWA Commissioner Bret Hart walked to the ring for a promo. He ripped Vince McMahon and others, complaining that he was never beaten for the WWF Title. Hart hyped the "Seven Deadly Sins" WWA Title tournament and said he would pass the torch to the winner.

(1) Juventud Guererra beat Psicosis in a ladder match to become the WWA Cruiserweight Champion and advance in the WWA Title tournament. In the end, Guererra powerbombed Psicosis from the ladder and grabbed the belt for the win. Afterward, the big screen showed Nathan Jones and Rove McManus (a local television personality) getting into an argument with Lenny Lane & Lodi.

(2) Road Dogg beat Konnan in a dog collar match to advance in the first round of the tournament.

(3) Norman Smiley beat Crowbar in a hardcore match. Late in the match, both wrestlers fought their way onto the stage where Crowbar set up a pair of tables. Crowbar placed Smiley onto the tables, climbed to the top of the big screen, and splashed him. However, when the men crashed through the tables, Smiley ended up on top of Crowbar for the win. Borash announced that Guererra was unable to continue in the tourney due to an injury. Backstage, Hart said a battle royal take place to determine who would replace Guererra.

(4) Buff Bagwell won a battle royal to advance in the tournament. In the end, Bagwell eliminated a pair of Australian television characters to win the match.

(5) Jeff Jarrett beat Nathan Jones (w/Rove McManus) in a guitar on a pole match.

Lawler interviewed Lenny & Lodi in the ring. Hart walked out and announced that the duo would face Road Dogg in a three-way match...

(6) Road Dogg beat Lenny and Lodi in a three-way to advance in the title tournament. Heavy comedy.

(7) Vampire Warrior (a.k.a. Gangrel) beat Luna in a black wedding match. In the end, Warrior gave his real life wife the implant DDT for the win.

(8) Adera James beat Violet Terossi and Queen Bee and Sharon Awad (Danny Dominion in drag) in a "Skin to Win" match when Stevie Ray interfered.

(9) Jeff Jarrett beat Road Dogg in a cage match to win the WWA Title tournament. In the end, Jarrett used the Stroke on the title belt for the win. Afterward, Hart came out and "passed the title" by locking Jarrett in the Sharpshooter to end the show on a positive note.

What Happened Next: WWA held a handful of more live tours and PPVs until closing down in 2003.
