WWE Raw Reax - 5 Yrs. Ago: "The crush thing with Jericho/Trish was interesting, and now that Christian saved Lita. I'm interested in seeing where they go with this."

Here's a fun look back at what PWTorch readers were saying after the Oct. 21, 2003 edition of Raw five years ago this week...

Kamran Fazal, Calgary Alb. (9.0): Best Match: Steiner & Jericho vs. Storm & RVD, Worst Match: Women's Tag. Tonight's Raw was simply put - amazing. They set the tone immediately by announcing the GM's Classic Survivor Series match and the show continued from there, The Triple H return was even exciting. Also, I see a good Christian-Jericho feud down the road, The Maven-Flair match was good, and even Jindrak and Cade jumping Orton was genius, HBK showed why he is still one of the best, and the Kane-Shane match for Survivor Series should be one hell of a violent blood bath. Overall this was one hell of a Raw and next week seems like it should be good as well.

A.B. Lipkin of Newark, Del. (8.5): Best Match: Rob Van Dam & Lance Storm vs. Chris Jericho& Scott Steiner. Worst Match: Booker T vs. Randy Orton. A solid edition of Raw. All of the matches were high energy, with Booker-Orton being worst because of the non-finish. The subplot on the money was well done, and it gave Garrison Cade and Mark Jindrak a good opportunity to show their verbal skills. The women's match was pretty good (Victoria's kick to Trish while Trish was hung on the apron was brutal) except for the King's "Molly Hottie" comments. The tributes were well done, especially the Dudley Boyz's Doomsday Device. Even with the lame ref bump in the main event, the show ended on a positive note, giving incentive to watch next week (welcome back, Batista). Keep it up, Raw. R.I.P. Stu Hart and Michael Hegstrand.

Jason F. of Greensboro, N.C. (8.0): Best match: Jericho/Steiner vs. RVD/Storm. Worst match: Booker/Orton. I really enjoyed tonight's show, surprisingly enough. The matches were all average, but nothing was horrible in the least. I really liked Cade and Jindrak stealing the money, but I shouldn't have been surprised to see Triple H end things with them like that. It really would have been nice to go with that angle longer and get Jindrak and Cade over a bit more. Batista's return was fine, I suppose, although I'm sure many people will be yawning at a Goldberg-Batista matchup down the road. Maven's match with Flair was fine, but too short, especially to have them do the "what an effort he gave" thing afterwards. The crush thing with Jericho/Trish was interesting, and now that Christian saved Lita. I'm interested in seeing where they go with this. Kane gave a fine "psycho" interview, and nothing inane resulted from it. So tonight had no great matches by any means, but no bad ones either, and nothing intelligence-insulting. I'm actually interested in seeing the five-on-five match at Survivor Series and interested in seeing what happens next week, and it's been a LONG time since I've felt that way about Raw.
