In Brief: Autographed photos Paige and other NXT stars will likely sell out quickly.

The recent surge in WWE trading cards from Topps has been driven by the first certified autographs of top young stars. Collectors had to wait about a year before obtaining certified autographs of Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, and Dean Ambrose, and almost as long for signatures from Bray Wyatt, Luke Harper, and Erick Rowan.

But for the first time, WWE is offering collectors a chance to buy autographs from top NXT prospects before they even make it to the main roster. For $14.99 each, collectors can buy autographed photos of four of the top NXT stars: Adrian Neville, Paige, Emma, and Sami Zayn.

All four of these young stars were included in the 2014 Topps WWE NXT insert set, but did not sign cards in that product. There has been a real buzz around all four, especially Paige. WWEShop.com will probably sell out of her signed photos very quickly.

WWE has been selling these autographed photos – which are actually more like mini-posters, as they are printed on a very thin poster stock – for several years. This series of signed photos has included the Undertaker, Triple H, John Cena, C.M. Punk, Daniel Bryan, Kelly Kelly, and dozens of others. The signed photos are usually sold for $19.99 each, a steal for an autograph from a tough signer like ‘Taker or Triple H.

WWE doesn’t heavily promote these signed photos. If you don’t regularly visit the memorabilia section of WWEShop.com, you may never have seen these before. They sell out very quickly and for some reason, don’t often pop up for sale on sites like eBay or Amazon.

There are two major concerns with these signed photos: they don’t come with any sort of certificate of authenticity (COA) from WWE, and they are often damaged because of poor packaging. Collectors have complained for years of receiving damaged photos that were shoved into bubble mailers and not protected in any way.

(On a personal note, I purchased a Triple H signed photo a couple years ago. It was folded in half and shoved in a bubble mailer. By the time I got it, it was creased and ripped in several places, making it practically worthless. When I complained to customer service, I was initially told they would send me another one. After a few weeks went by, I contacted them again and was told the item was out of stock and I would instead get a refund.)

These photos don’t carry the same type of appeal as signed trading cards, and therefore usually aren’t as valuable. However, it will probably be quite a while before Paige, Neville, Emma, or Zayn autographs are included in a Topps set. If you’re looking for an autograph from one of these four, act quickly.
