SUPERSTARS HITS

Guerrero vs. Kingston: This was a good match. The crowds are definitely behind Kofi Kingston right now. He performed well in this match. Chavo Guerrero did also. I always like it when I get a chance to see him in an actual wrestling match instead of a silly non-funny "comedy" scene. He showed here that he is a good worker whose in ring talents have largely gone to waste over the last year. He and Kingston work well together in the ring. Kingston obviously deserves a spot at WrestleMania, and I assume he will be in Money in the Bank (although in my Raw Hits & Misses I threw out my crazy prediction that he might end up teaming with Randy Orton against Legacy, but that's crazy, isn't it?).

Goldust vs. Jericho: I enjoyed the main event. Goldust proved on ECW that there is still a place for him on the WWE roster in 2010 (I would not have expected to type that sentence one year ago). He put on a good match with World Champion Chris Jericho. Jericho is so great. I loved how he laid across the top turnbuckle as Goldust tried to pull himself back in the ring. He does so many little things like that (or the hand to his ears) that get the crowd riled up against him and for his opponent. There was one bad moment in the match after Goldust blocked a superplex attempt and jumped off the top rope only to be drop-kicked by Jericho. This is one of my pet peeves in wrestling. I hate it when a wrestler jumps off the top rope with the sole purpose of being countered by the opponent, without looking like he is actually attempting a move. What was Goldust attempting to do? If Jericho had stood perfectly still, it looked like Goldust would have landed at least two feet away from him. He didn't have his arms in position to do a double ax handle or a clothesline. Looking past that, the match was otherwise quite good. It built very nicely with a series of counters and a close near fall to the ending with Jericho forcing Goldust to tap to the Walls of Jericho. WWE needs to do more of that as WrestleMania approaches to make Jericho's submission hold credible going into his Title defense against Edge.

SUPERSTARS MISSES

Lack of Hype: This Miss has nothing to do with my enjoyment of Superstars. However, I have to say that from a business stand point, I don't understand why WWE refuses to hype anything involving Superstars on Monday Night Raw. Kofi Kingston is a star on the rise who has become very popular with WWE fans. Why not say on Raw that he will be in a match on Superstars? Chris Jericho is the World Heavyweight Champion. Why not announce that he will be in a match on Superstars? They talked on Raw about Edge vs. Big Show for Smackdown, so why not include this also? It takes about 30 seconds to do it where they have their largest audience. Would it make a big difference in ratings? Who knows until you try it.

New Blood Rule: I'm sorry, but I just don't like this new rule where the referee stops the match if a wrestler starts to bleed. I have said it before and I will unfortunately say it again, but I am fine if they want to do away with blading, but when Chavo Guerrero gets a small cut over his eye and the referee pauses the match to stop the bleeding, the action comes to a complete stand still. The result is a restless live audience and a tv audience that feels like changing the channel.
