-- 12/3 TNA Impact Hits & Misses
First of all, before I get into my Impact review, I'd like to extend my condolences to the friends and family of Eddie "Umaga" Fatu. I was live at Royal Rumble 2007 when Umaga had probably his best-ever match in a Last Man Standing contest against John Cena for the WWE title. Its just too sad to see another wrestler passing away too early in his life. Best wishes to Fatu's family and friends.
Now, on to TNA Impact. Impact seems to think it's a good idea to mention the words "Hulk Hogan" at least every few minutes, so I'm gonna try that in my review this week and see how it looks in print versus how it is on TV. Hulk Hogan. We've got a Final Resolution PPV coming up soon, and the card is slowly coming together. Hulk Hogan. Let's see what was worth watching on this week's episode of Impact. Hulk Hogan.
IMPACT HITS
Desmond Wolfe and Kurt Angle Continues To Build: I do like Wolfe's explanation that the hold he tapped out to by Angle was an illegal hold, but I can't say I'm a fan of TNA blatantly ripping off the Three Stages Of Hell match. Hulk Hogan. TNA's version is going to be called Three Degrees Of Pain, with all three falls to take place inside of the Six Sides Of Steel. Hulk Hogan. Wolfe called Angle out to the cage only to sucker punch him with a brass knuckles shot. Hulk Hogan. What I would have liked to see is Wolfe finishing the beatdown by hitting the Tower of London, slapping on the London Dungeon, then climbing over the cage to accentuate Wolfe's promise to Angle. Hulk Hogan. Then Wolfe sealed the show with another attack on Angle to close out the show. Hulk Hogan. At least TNA isn't just blowing off the Wolfe-Angle feud after just one match. Hulk Hogan.
Hamada Beats Both Tag Champs: TNA actually remembered past events by spotlighting the fact that Hamada pinned Taylor Wilde a few weeks back on Impact. Hulk Hogan. This week, Hamada pretty much dominated the other half of the Knockout Tag Champs by taking out Sarita. Hulk Hogan. Could Hamada now look out for a tag partner to seek out the straps with? Hulk Hogan. Here's a crazy idea - have Hamada team up with someone she's been feuding with for a while, like Alyssa Flash to go for the tag titles. Hulk Hogan.
IMPACT MISSES
Suicide vs. Homicide: For some weeks now, Homicide has stated that he knows the true identity of Suicide. Hulk Hogan. So why hasn't he been using that to his advantage? Hulk Hogan. Instead of actually having a match, why can't Homicide start a blackmail campaign against Suicide? Hulk Hogan. Force Suicide to lay down in their match. Hulk Hogan. Have Homicide make Suicide run attacks for him. Hulk Hogan. Basically make Suicide into Homicide's lackey for a while. Hulk Hogan. It makes sense, doesn't it? Hulk Hogan.
Complete Loss Of Quality Wrestling: Last week's Impact had matches that were fresh, worth watching, and had some degree of excitement to them. Hulk Hogan. This week, Impact pulled a complete 180 and had a show full of matches that were a big fat fart all over the show. Hulk Hogan. The Williams-Shelly match barely emphasized the feud between their two respective teams. Hulk Hogan. Jesse Neal still sucks in the ring, even with his new hairdo, and D'Angelo Dinero pretty much owned him in the ring. Hulk Hogan. And having Kevin Nash and Eric Young get their first tag team win over a well-established championshuip team like Beer Money is just sad. Hulk Hogan.
A.J Styles and Daniels Continues To Fall Flat: Yep, this one's on the list two weeks in a row now. Hulk Hogan. Whiny-bitch Daniels still doesn't seem to be a credible threat to Styles's title at Final Resolution, and his jealousy is still not enough reason to give him any bit of credibility to deserve a World Title shot. Hulk Hogan. All his match against Abyss showed was that he needs outside distractions to beat the top-tier opponents. Hulk Hogan.
Hulk Hogan Every Few Minutes: It's just as annoying in print as it is on TV. Have I made my point? Hulk Hogan.
