I wanted to post a quick recap of a fantastic night of independent wrestling that I attended on Saturday night. I will have a full report later in the week in my blog and in the nostalgia podcast.

Paul Neu, who wrestled as PN News for WCW in 1991 and in ECW as a member of the Baldies, promoted two wrestling events this weekend. Friday night, his show drew approximately 500 people in Omaha, Nebraska, which actually outdrew TNA which drew 400 people to neighboring Council Bluffs, Iowa last week. On Saturday night, an estimated 600 people attended a show in tiny Hartington, Nebraska. Hartington is only a town of 1,600 people, but it is also the hometown of Neu.

Here are the results:

Chad Collyer defeated Big John (Brian Blades under a mask) by pinfall.

Jose Gonzalez defeated Udo via pinfall. Gonzalez is my new favorite independent wrestler. His character is so awesome. Got to have him as a guest on my podcast soon.

Brian Blades defeated Zero Kincade by pinfall. Blades had some really cool moves.

Alex Shelley defeated Metal Master in an awesome match by pinfall. This was one of the best matches I have ever seen live.

Grizzly (Paul Neu/PN News) & Mastino (Mantuar) defeated Homicide and Matt Morgan when Grizzly pinned Homicidie. Great main event.

Again, this was a great show and I will have more details later this week.
