SMACKDOWN HITS

None: This was a pretty bad episode of Smackdown. While I did fine five things to complain about on the show, I could not find anything good, and what didn't suck was just so-so. The opening segment with Big Show demonstrating the match choices for Cyber Sunday was o.k. The wrestling action throughout the show was just o.k. None of the matches were bad, but none of them were good either. They were mostly short. There wasn't a single moment on the show that made me happy to be watching. Nothing jumped out at me as a Hit.

SMACKDOWN MISSES

Cena Videos: I know that he is one of the biggest stars in WWE right now and that he has a lot of fans and many others who show up just to boo him. It is important to keep him in the minds of the fans while he is out with his neck injury. But, he is a Raw Superstar, not a Smackdown Superstar. I didn't particularly enjoy either of the two videos that WWE has done on Cena each of the last two weeks on Raw, but I put up with them. I certainly don't need to see them both again four nights later on a show that Cena doesn't even appear on.

Kizarny: This gimmick looks very cheesy. Hearing Kizarny talk like that got old right away last week when his first vignette aired. I was already sick of it when we got to see the same exact vignette this week. If that wasn't bad enough, we got to see a second new one later in the show. Kizarny might be a good wrestler and I should really give the gimmick a chance. But, first impressions do matter and so far his first impression (and second) has been very annoying.

Khali as a Face: Am I the only one who has absolutely no desire to see The Great Khali turn face? I somehow doubt it. I really have no desire to see him wrestle at all, but the only value in someone like him who has freakish size, but can't talk and can't wrestle is as a monster heel. Why should I cheer a guy like him? He sucks. I don't want him to be a babyface. I don't see the value in it at all. When Yokozuna turned face, it was the end of his career. Maybe Khali turning face won't be such a bad thing after all.

Fuzzy Dice on Pole Match: What I particularly like about this match is that Vickie Guerrero called it the perfect way to determine a #1 contender for Michelle McCool's Divas Championship. Yes, because whenever I think about what it takes to be a champion in WWE I think about pulling two large (make that extra large) fuzzy dice off of a pole. It was stupid to have this "match" in the first place, and the "match" wasn't good at all. It was just random Divas pulling other random Divas off the tope rope until one was able to pull the dice down. And, Maria sucks. She shouldn't be getting a Title shot.

Triple H vs. Undertaker Next Week?!: You have to be kidding me. Triple H vs. Undertaker is a definite PPV Main Event quality match that hasn't happened in a long time. The recent Batista vs. Shawn Michaels match on Raw was o.k. since the two had a feud earlier this year. But, WWE has kept Triple H and Undertaker on separate brands for several years now. I look back fondly on their great match from WrestleMania 17 and I look forward to seeing them in a PPV Main Event down the line with a proper build. I don't want to see them wrestle for the first time in a long time next week on Smackdown for absolutely no reason. Now, chances are that it will just be a tease and that both Big Show and Vladimir Kozlov will get involved pretty early, but why cheapen it? It makes no sense to me.
