By Kyle Hodgdon, PWTorch Specialist

To begin, I must apologize for my hiatus last week. The computer that I typically use needed a trip to the emergency room. I would also like to thank Torch reader Ben Webb for his inspiration to this week’s Please Not That Prediction. In honor of TNA’s biggest pay-per-view of the year (or so they tell us) tonight, this week’s column will be all TNA.

MAIN EVENT PREDICTION

Mick Foley’s BFG Roll: So Foley is the outside enforcer for the Jarrett/Angle match? That is kind of disappointing. But be that as it may, it is almost set in stone that Foley will interfere in the match in some way, shape or form.

Many people are predicting for Foley to turn on Jarrett. Personally, I am not so sure. I think that it very well could happen, but I don’t see it happening. I think that TNA wants nothing more than Foley in the ring. I think Foley wants that as well but I think he wants to be in there in a high profile match with Angle.

Foley obviously holds Angle in very high regard as a wrestler and I think he would be setting his sights on a match with Angle very soon. The best way to get the ball rolling on that is to cost Angle the match tonight.

MID-CARD PREDICTION

Styles vs. Christian vs. Booker?: After Joe, Sting, Angle, and Jarrett, Styles, Christian, and Booker are the three biggest stars that TNA has, therefore they should be included in the company’s biggest pay-per-view, right? There is no complaint from me there, but I do have a problem with them being featured in a worthless, nothing match. Seriously, this match was announced with under a week before the pay-per-view and there is no reason for it. There is no reason why TNA couldn’t have had something more interesting for any one of these guys to do.

Obviously the Styles/Christian feud will continue as we ask ourselves what side is Christian on. I am really trying to get myself to like this feud, but I really can’t. Booker will probably remain amerced in the feud in some way to sway Christian away from Styles.

I am hoping that this rivalry resolves itself quickly so we can get things a bit more organized and not have pay-per-view matches that would hardly fit as a main event on impact that feature a companies top draws.

FINGERS CROSSED PREDICTION

Women’s Division: Remember when TNA’s Women’s division was heads and tails better than WWE’s? Well as of now it seems like those days are long gone. Hopefully at Bound for Glory TNA gets things back on track and the first step is to put the title back on Kong.

Kong really revolutionized what the female division could be. Sure Gail Kim helped to give her a formidable challenger, but Kong was the unstoppable monster who had an unlimited amount of power.

Now we have the reverse of that as Taylor Wilde is the Knockout Champion. Needless to say, she has been a bore as champion and her wins always seem to be just a fluke. She does not have the charisma that a fluke champion has to have to make the character work. Santino Marella is a great example as to how that kind of champion can work. Taylor Wilde is not.

So here’s to Kong winning back the title at BFG tonight and reestablishing that division.

PLEASE NOT THAT PREDICTION

Ric Flair to TNA at Bound for Glory: Fast Forward reader Ben Webb emailed me a bit over a week ago with a prediction that Flair would show up at BFG during the Sting/Joe match. His reasons were:

“1) Ric Flair and WWE have parted ways (that's my understanding anyway), 2) Sting keeps name dropping Ric Flair for cheap crowd pops and, 3) while watching the most recent Impact on my DVR last night, during his promo I'm pretty sure Sting said he had a huge shock for Bound For Glory - my gut reaction said Ric Flair.”

To my understanding, Flair is not able to appear in TNA until sometime in mid 2009. I could be wrong on that, but I believe I read that somewhere. But that aside, I don’t think this is the right time for Flair to show up in TNA.

I am hoping that tonight’s title match between Joe and Sting does not have the usual mass run-ins that is so accustomed to TNA main events. Joe needs the credibility of a title win without a run-in or the use of a foreign object. Adding Ric Flair to the equation is not necessary.

Also, not enough time has lapsed for a surprise Flair appearance to mean as much. If a year or more passes the appearance would mean much more than this short amount of time.

Flair could very well show up in TNA sooner or later. If he is planning on doing it, I am holding out for later. The more time that passes, the more special the appearance will be.

ONE LAST PREDICTION

TNA can’t be happy with how their “biggest pay-per-view of the year” has turned out. Only two matches really received any build. And with that, I predict TNA will try to forget this pay-per-view as quickly as they can and try again next month at Turning Point.

"Fast Forward" will appear exclusively on pwtorch.com each week. Email kylehodgdon@hotmail.com with any questions, comments, or personal predictions. Hodgdon urges you to read Marvel Comic's "Civil War" if you want to see a "split down the middle" storyline done right.
