CMLL "LUCHA AZTECA" TV REPORT
SEPTEMBER 12, 2015
AIRED ON TV AZTECA
REPORT BY JOSE MARRERO (@WRESTLINGFANWR)

-CMLL Open.

-The show opened with Miguel Linares and Julio Cesar Rivera running down the matches for today’s show, which are from the August 28 Arena Mexico show. Included are Dragon Lee, Valiente, and Marco Corleone vs. Ephesto, Mephisto, and Rey Escorpion in a six-man tag match. There is also Dr. Wagner, Jr., Rush, and La Sombra vs. Atlantis, L.A. Park, and Volador, Jr.

1 -- DRAGON LEE & VALIENTE & (Team Captain) MARCO CORLEONE VS. EPHESTO & MEPHISTO & (Team Captain) REY ESCORPION

FIRST FALL: The crowd seems really into Marco Corleone as I guess he is something of a sex symbol in Mexico and the cameras are panning all over the arena to show different reactions, specifically from women. The match starts with him and Rey Escorpion. Corleone is doing all his superman spots and gyrations to the crowd's content, which brings in Ephesto, who had more luck. From there, everyone was just in and out of the ring at will.

The first fall was rather quick going two minutes, if that. The Escorpion rudo team pretty much double and triple teamed the technicos at will. For the fall, they did a triple-team hip toss to the middle ropes followed by a springboard splash on Valiente. Then, Dragon Lee took a double dropkick and Rey Escorpion got the pin.

WINNERS OF THE FIRST FALL: Team Rey Escorpion.

-CMLL cut to some crowd shots showing the arena looking very full, followed by highlights of the first fall.

SECOND FALL: The rudos dominated early until Corleone made his own comeback on three guys, which led to everyone coming in the ring. If you thought the first fall was quick the second fall went like a blur. The finish for this fall was Dragon Lee hitting Ephesto with a double stomp from the top rope while he was stuck in the Tree of Woe. Valiente then hit a modified gourd buster into a double pin for the technicos.

WINNERS OF THE SECOND FALL: Team Corleone to even the match 1-1.

-Highlights of the second fall played and they showed the finish from different angles. Next were more crowd shots. Just a quick observation how I see almost no small children in this crowd, as it seems mostly composed of young to middle-aged men.

[Commercial Break]

THIRD FALL: The deciding fall started out a bit more slowly but had its moments like Dragon Lee hitting Rey Escorpion outside the ring with a diving huracanrana. The announcers immediately went to a replay of the move, as it was the best move of the match to this point. Marco Corleone got to do more of his sexy superman spots on Rey Escorpion, then Dragon Lee hit another brilliant swanton to the outside. Not to be out-done, Valiente hit a triple jump moonsault. Corleone, who was outside the ring on the ramp during all of this, then ran down and hit Rey Escorpion with a flying body-press to pin the rudo captain for the fall and the win.

WINNERS OF THE MATCH: Team Corleone 2-1. Marco Corleone was put over big by the announcers, as he is the star of this team. To be honest, I just don’t get it. I wish someone could explain to me how Corleone is as over as he is in Mexico. I get it, he is a good-looking, guy but you have much more talented guys of that stature in Mexico and they are not over to the degree that Corleone is. Dragon Lee was in my opinion the star of this match, as his dives are really what made this a solid match. Overall, it was a decent opening offering to the program.

-CMLL then aired highlights of the match with all the dives and the finish. They went to some more crowd shots and the announcers hyped the main event for the show as well as the feud between La Sombra and Atlantis, which is headlining the CMLL's anniversary show.

[Commercial Break]

2 -- RUSH & LA SOMBRA & (Team Captain) Dr. WAGNER, JR. vs. LA PARK & VOLADOR, JR. & (Team Captain) ATLANTIS -- six-man tag match

FIRST FALL: These guys can’t wait as the fight gets started right on the entrance ramp during Rush and Sombra’s entrance. Wild brawl and the camera is panning all over the arena as action is in and outside the ring between all six guys. The crowd is going nuts for the action, as the wrestlers are even in the stands. A funny part of the match is Rush wanting to celebrate with Dr. Wagner, Jr. and doing the Wagner, Jr. poses, but La Sombra stops it, as he is all business. The technicos then triple-teamed LA Park, but Park made his own comeback with a top-rope suicida on Sombra on the outside. This led to Atlantis hitting the Atlantida on Wagner, Jr. for a submission while Volador, Jr. superkicked and hit Rush with the backcracker for the pin to win the first fall.

WINNERS OF THE FIRST FALL: Team Atlantis.

-CMLL cut to some crowd shots as the announcers put over how packed it is again. Highlights of the first fall are shown again.

[Commercial Break]

SECOND FALL: Just a solid fall. It started off once again with Rush wanting to celebrate with Wagner, Jr. and once again being denied by Volador, Jr. Park and Rush then went at it trading German Suplexes in the ring with Rush getting the best of the exchange. Finally, Rush got to celebrate a bit with Wagner Jr.

Volador, Jr. looked great until La Sombra came in. They went at it for a bit until Volador hit him with a springboard huracanrana outside the ring. Atlantis cleaned house on everyone for a moment until being cut off and then it just broke down again. Wagner, Jr. and Volador, Jr. went at it on the outside and then Wagner, Jr. went into the stands for a hug, which led to him and Park going at it in the crowd

Meanwhile in the ring, La Sombra tried to take off Atlantis's mask and the camera panned all over the arena showing all six guys going at it. The finish came when Rush and Sombra hit a suplex on Atlantis for the pin, after Rush had already made LA Park submit to a leglock.

WINNERS OF THE SECOND FALL: Team Wagner, Jr. to even the match 1-1.

-Everyone is still going at it as the announcers show highlights of the second fall and prepare the audience for the third and deciding fall.

[Commercial Break]

THIRD FALL: Everyone is battling it out from the get-go with action all throughout the arena. Park is on the outside whipping Rush with a wire and the crowd is going nuts for this. These guys are all over the place as everyone seems to be hitting dives all over the place. The finish came when Atlantis was running wild and took out the referee by mistake leading to a Sombra low-blow. An unmasking almost led to the pin except LA Park dropkicked the referee (I’m serious). Dr. Wagner, Jr. eventually came in and hit the Doctor Driver on Park, which led to him pinning Park while Sombra pinned Atlantis.

WINNERS OF THE MATCH: Team Wagner 2-1. I have to say that Volador, Jr. is just awesome. His dives stole the show.

-The show ended with highlights of the match, talk from the announcers, and crowd shots from the show. The announcers wrapped things up to close the broadcast.
