Greg Parks, Torch Columnist (6.0)

I'll say this: TNA wiggled out of the screwjob from last week about as well as they could this week. They pretty much explained everything, from why Hogan would screw Angle (he didn't) to why Angle would spit on Hogan if Hogan wasn't behind it (because Hogan's in charge and responsible for everything). That's not to say I liked it, but it made more sense after this week. Still, they need to get away from the screwjob as soon as possible; I have this fear that next week will start a build-up that will reveal Eric Bischoff as the Higher Power.

I cringed when I heard the Eight-Card Stud Tournament, but if it leads to rankings and wins/losses becoming more important, I'm all for it. I'm also all for Desmond Wolfe advancing over Sean Morley and Rob Terry NOT winning the X Division Title. What I'm not for was Daniels being sent down the ladder even further. It almost appears as though Bischoff and Hogan are going to split in the near future, with Bischoff on the heel side and Hogan on the face side of the power struggle. Hogan isn't coming across as the heel Bischoff is.

Curtis Shanks, PWTorch.com Contributor (6.5)

I've long been a fan of the shades of grey booking in TNA, but what is going on with Jeff Jarrett? I'm okay with someone acting a bit heelish and a bit like a babyface at the same time, but Jarrett is all-out heel one week and all-out face the next. Two weeks ago he was a complete ass and put down the company he founded and the talents that work for it, but now I'm supposed to cheer him because he's apologetic?

The payoff to the Angle screw job felt a bit cheap, but the silver lining is that it looks like TNA might not drag this through the mud and will actually forget about it. They tried to recreate the Montreal Screwjob, but I hope they don't duplicate its aftermath. It does set up a good storyline for Angle to try and win the tournament and get his revenge, so it's not as bad as it appeared after last week.

I like Mr. Anderson in the main event, as he is the one new acquisition that could have the biggest impact years down the road. Most of the other big names are past their primes or could turn out to be a flake (Jeff Hardy). His PPV debut fell a bit flat, but I've always been a fan of his mic work and like that he stands out amongst the rest of the roster.

This was a decent show overall, but my main complaint is that titles apparently don't mean jack in TNA. A.J. Styles was only in some backstage skits, Hernandez got a singles victory but Matt Morgan was not present, the women's champs were in a throw-away tag match and the X champ was in a meaningless four minute match that was forgotten by the end of the show. Doug Williams ended up defeating him, but we only got twenty seconds of that match and it was never mentioned again.

Daniel Wilkenfeld, PWTorch.com Contributor (6.0)

This show had a treading-water feel. The tournament was neat, but neither it nor Angle's involvement was announced in a particularly dramatic way. The realignment of course I liked, and I liked both the main event and the X Division tag match. I don't particularly agree with moving the belt off Amazing Red so abruptly, and can think of better champions than Doug Williams, but he's certainly pretty good. There was a certain punch missing from the show though, and not enough solid wrestling or mic work to wholly bridge the gap. Also the Hebner bit was really stupid.
