James Caldwell, Torch Assistant Editor (4.5)

This show just didn't do it for me. Santino was probably the highlight, but at the same time, it was sad knowing he'll never be put in a main event position to draw money for WWE. He'll always be stuck in the same mid-card comedy role despite his awesomeness. Chris Masters is Chris Masters. What you see is what you get, literally. They had a fine opening match, but it set the tone for this show being a cookie-cutter episode without much creativity.

The ECW tag match of Burchill & Regal vs. Reks & Yoshi followed the right script and featured the right finish to give the heel veterans a one-up to set up the youngsters with added motivation to make a comeback. Match wasn't particularly memorable, but it served its purpose. Having to watch the cookie-cutter mid-card heel trio of Masters, Burchill, and Knox on the same show was too much, though.

Rey Mysterio vs. Knox was another "just fine" match, but I thought even Dolph Ziggler was hit with the "lack of creativity" stick and his personality did not shine during his commentary appearance. It was fine he was there to "scout" Rey for a possible IC Title match at Summerslam, but I didn't get anything out of the appearance thanks to WWE sticking him in a secondary role. It wasn't like Chris Jericho being awesome on commentary and getting over a match during Raw on Monday.

Jon Mezzera, PWTorch.com Contributor (6.5)

This was a solid-to-good episode of Superstars. Nothing stands out as being as good as what we saw last week in terms of John Morrison vs. Tyson Kidd. However, there were a few good matches. I liked teaming Paul Burchill up with William Regal. It is nothing new, but despite being around for quite awhile, Burchill doesn't get great reactions, whereas Regal often does. Teaming newcomers Tyler Reks and Yoshi Tatsu also worked as Tatsu has gotten over with the crowd quickly, while Reks hasn't. Reks vs. Burchill has been quiet, but the crowd was into this tag match which was solid.

The main event of Mike Knox vs. Rey Mysterio was good. Knox moves around well for a big guy. His flying cross body is impressive. Mysterio was his usual good self. Dolph Ziggler was OK doing guest commentary. He didn't add much to the match, but did a good job of putting over how he was scouting Mysterio for a possible Intercontinental Title rematch at SummerSlam. They also did a good job of hyping the fatal four way #1 contenders match for Smackdown. Considering Ziggler cost Knox the match and they are opponents in that match, I would have liked to see some tension between them afterward.

My biggest complaint is the mere presence of Chris Masters. Of all the castoffs in the last few years, Masters was far from the top of my wish list in terms of who WWE could rehire. He looks to be the same wrestler who was let go before, a sculpted body with little else to offer. Santino Marella's antics were fun as usual, but I find it hard to get into a Masters match.

Greg Parks, PWTorch.com Contributor (5.0)

It just boggles my mind that Chris Masters is brought back, yet WWE doesn't have a place for guys like The Brian Kendrick (although there may have been other circumstances leading to his release), Colt Cabana and Elijah Burke. I have about as much interest in seeing Masters as I did when he left; that is, about zero. Thank God for Santino's humor, saving that match from "boring" chants.

The ECW tag match was good; anytime they give Burchill credibility is a plus for me. I'm not digging Reks or Tatsu yet, but I'll give them a little more time. Knox vs. Mysterio was fine, but a little under my expectations actually. They had a feud that fizzled out on Raw, and perhaps, for whatever reason, they just aren't a good match inside the ring.
