James Caldwell, Torch Assistant Editor (3.5)

My low rating is weighed on my big picture evaluation of the Raw brand and not necessarily the content of this week's specific show. Seth Green hosting was fine, although we were forced to watch recycled material from Celebrity Deathmatch, Austin Powers, and Triple H mocking John Cena with a sly grin and smacking of the gum. At least the crowd was hot for the main event and more interested in watching Seth Green "wrestle" than watch yet another installment of "Insert Hunter or Cena as Babyface" vs. Legacy and watch Legacy cower like children.

Which gets me to my next point that the top storylines and feuds on the Raw brand are so stale and past the point of recycling. How many times can McDonald's recycle that paper bag they stuff the burger and fries in? Instead of shooting Miz to the top, they book him to lose clean to John Cena then stick him in the middle of yet another brother vs. brother feud where he can be a complete after-thought. Instead of building anticipation for MVP vs. Jack Swagger I, they give it away on free TV with zero pre-match hype. What?

And then, Evan Bourne continues to play rag doll to Big Show after Show basically drops the "vanilla midget" line to Seth Green backstage. Why not just lawn dart Bourne into the side of a production truck and get it over with? Bourne has the Kevin Nash heat right now of the women wanting to be with him (as evidenced by the female crowd members the camera focused on during his ring entrance) and the men want to cheer him and be him pulling off the amazing moves he does in the ring. What does WWE do with that? Squash him to Show. This, coming after that dreadful series against Mark Henry on ECW. Unless there's an upcoming Wellness explanation, this makes zero sense.

I thought WWE dropped the ball with the Edge injury. They had a free ticket to create a compelling program revolving around Chris Jericho's new tag partner. Sure, they planted seeds for an Edge babyface turn when he returns, but they followed up Jericho's announcement with him being torn apart by Mark Henry. Instead of building up a program with mid-carders auditioning for a spot next to Jericho to impress him to perhaps shoot some new blood to the top of the show, WWE opted to make Jericho the fool. He didn't need to get his comeuppance yet.

Bruce Mitchell, Torch Columnist (6.5)

WWE put on their most PG 13 show yet, with the thirty-five year old Seth Green playing the fifteen year-old Seth Green playing wrestler the whole night. It looked like the kids and girls in the audience loved it, and he was the most popular character of the night. If enough of them watch (and buy) to make up for the fans they lost this weekend (or sometime back) to UFC, well, it worked.

Greg Parks, PWTorch.com Contributor (6.0)

Let me just say: I can't wait until Kevin Federline makes his return to guest host Raw, and he attempts to make John Cena's life miserable that night. Now, with that out of the way, I thought Seth Green did a great job on the show, and credit WWE for booking the main event in an interesting way for Green. His backstage stuff was well-done too. Getting an actor who likes WWE can do wonders for the acting in backstage skits. It also helped that the crowd was hot for Green, unusual for non-wrestling people coming into the wrestling bubble.

The opening Divas match was fun, mainly because we don't get matches like this all the time anymore. Sad to see Miz back relegated to beating guys like Primo. MVP vs. Swagger was fine, but where do they go now? I don't have a problem with MVP putting Swagger over cleanly, since I think Swagger has more of a future (both long and short-term) than MVP at this point. Jericho's segment/match with Mark Henry was good, and it's better to limit Henry's in-ring time than over-expose it like was done in ECW.

The Hornswoggle vs. Chavo thing was the only real waste of time on the show. Well, that and Bourne jobbing hard to Big Show, which really irritated me. That kind of booking is so short-sighted it's mind-boggling. I was hoping to get more Santino-Seth Green interaction, but there was only a little. And the main event (and whole show) didn't do much to build toward Night of Champions, but I guess that's what go-home shows are for.
