TNA Impact will remain on Destination America until the end of 2015, according to TNA president Dixie Carter speaking to Sports Illustrated. This confirms what PWTorch editor Wade Keller reported last week on the Tuesday edition of the PWTorch Livecast with Jason Powell and in last week's Pro Wrestling Torch Newsletter "TNA Newswire" section.

Impact was marked for cancellation at the end of September, according to the Wrestling Observer early this summer.

“The biggest challenge for us is building a brand in the U.S.," Carter told SI's Justin Barrasso. “That’s where we need to grow. We’re contracted to Destination America through the end of the year, and we are in discussions going on for 2016."

This confirms what those-in-the-know have said amongst themselves in recent months that they were confident of return TV tapings to Orlando this fall.

Regarding brand-building, Carter admitted to not being able to find the right mix of legends who have come through TNA. However, when speaking about Paul Heyman, who she had discussions with five years ago about heading up the behind-the-scenes operation, Carter made it sound like she thought Heyman would try to re-create ECW.

“​I’m a big Paul Heyman fan,” Carter said. “We met that one time, and I would have loved to have found a way to bring him in. But what Paul did for ECW could not be created for us today. In this litigious world we live in, that stuff could never be recreated. You can’t go back and recreate things. I’ve had the biggest names work for us, and it’s just shown me that there’s no magic bullet. So we’re learning from our mistakes from the past and how can we be different and move forward.”

Caldwell's Analysis: Heyman might be best-known for ECW, but Carter's view is in contrast to Heyman's track record of trying to find the next big thing in wrestling, not trying to go back in time. Carter's comment adds more fuel to the view that she does not have a grasp of the pro wrestling industry, especially being surrounded by people who tell her what she wants to hear throughout her run as TNA president.
