Seiya Sanada, a member of the "Revolution" stable in TNA storylines, has parted ways with TNA and Wrestle-1, Sanada said this week in Japan.

Sanada had a "dual contract" with TNA and W-1, but with the relationship between TNA and W-1 ending, Sanada decided to go on his own as a freelance wrestler.

TNA announced a one-year deal with Sanada in July of last year, but Sanada says the deal expired in April. He said this week that his W-1 contract expires on Friday (May 15).

Reflecting on the past year, Sanada said that he felt his best career opportunity was signing with TNA, but that turned out to not be the case. It's unclear if he was putting the blame on TNA or simply because the relationship between TNA and W-1 ended.

Regardless, Sanada teased staying in the U.S., potentially for Jeff Jarrett's Global Force Wrestling promotion or trying to get his foot in the door with WWE. He said he will not be competing full-time in Japan, which is why he is going free-lance after being contracted to W-1 in Japan.

While in TNA, Sanada held the X Division Title for a few months this time last year. Sanada captured the title from Austin Aries at a W-1/TNA event in Tokyo, Japan in March 2014.
