TNA Impact News & Notes 3/27

- The broadcast opened with a brief message: "In Memory of El Hijo Del Perro Aguayo," tributing one of AAA's top stars who died last Friday in Mexico.

- On the first Impact back in the U.S. post-European Tour, Jeff Hardy returned to Impact television to beat James Storm in a Lethal Lockdown steel cage match. Hardy won the main event match by swinging off the roof of the cage into a flying splash for the pin.

- Kurt Angle had a championship celebration the week after capturing the TNA World Title from Bobby Lashley. The celebration was interrupted by various potential title contenders including Austin Aries, Bobby Roode, Ethan Carter III, and Eric Young.

As Angle left the ring, former champion Lashley made an appearance reminding Angle that he has a future title re-match. The segment ended in a brawl leading to a tag match.

- Later in the show, TNA announced Angle vs. Lashley for the TNA World Title on next week's Impact.

Also announced for next week's show is another blow-off match of Bobby Roode vs. Eric Young and Magnus vs. Bram in a Falls Count Anywhere match.

- Rockstar Spud retained the X Division Title over Low Ki with help from Drew Galloway distracting the Beat Down Clan. Afterward, Galloway introduced two new roster members to form "The Rising" faction.

In the previous segment, TNA addressed Samoa Joe's departure from TNA by having the BDC regroup trying to find the "next man up" to join MVP, Kenny King, and Low Ki.

- In the Knockouts division, Awesome Kong beat Brooke. Afterward, Taryn Terrell tried to make the save, but Kong put the Knockouts champion through a table.

- Match Results: (1) X Division champion Rockstar Spud beat Low Ki to retain the X Division Title. ... (2) Awesome Kong beat Brooke. ... (3) Ethan Carter III & Tyrus & Eric Young beat Austin Aries & Bobby Roode & Mr. Anderson in a six-man tag match. ... (4) Jeff Hardy beat James Storm in a steel cage match.
