TNA Impact TV taping report
August 7, 2014
New York City
Report by Kyle Petrano, PWTorch VIP member

Impact SPOILERS for September episodes, including "No Surrender" special

(1) Chris Melendez beat D.J. Zema.

Bobby Roode cut a promo about going after the TNA Title.

(2) Bobby Roode & X Division champion Samoa Joe & Eric Young beat TNA World champion Lashley & MVP & Kenny King in a six-man tag match.

(3) Velvet Sky & Bro-Mans beat Knux & Rebel & Crazzy Steve in a six-person tag match.

Kurt Angle and Ethan Carter III had a promo exchange.

(4) ECIII beat Rhino in a New York Street Fight.

TNA Knockout Calendar Cover Winner: Velvet Sky.

Havok attacked KO champion Gail Kim.

(5) Sanada & James storm beat Austin Aries & Tajiri.

(6) Bram beat Gunner.

Havok and Gail Kim brawled. Havok knocked out two guys.

(7) Crazzy Steve beat Rockstar Spud.

(8) TNA tag champions The Wolves beat Team 3D and the Hardys to make the Tag Title series 1-1-1. It was a ladder match that turned into TLC. Crazy spot with Matt Hardy and Davey Richards and I think Jeff Hardy got hurt at the end of the match.

(9) Chris Melendez beat Kenny King. King said things about Chris's leg. Very classless; I don't care if it's for an angle. Mr. Anderson was out for the save.

(10) Havok won a Knockouts battle royal over Angelina Love, Velvet Sky, Rebel, Brittany, Madison Rayne, and Taryn Terrell.

The main event of "No Surrender" is Bobby Lashley vs. Bobby Roode for the TNA World Title.

(11) TNA World Hvt. champion Lashley beat Bobby Roode to retain the TNA World Title. Match of the Night. Simply awesome

One-third of the crowd left after this match, then the rest of the taping got bad quickly with the crowd turning on the show.

(12) Abyss beat Sam Shaw.

(13) X Division champion Samoa Joe beat Homicide to retain the X Division Title.

Post-match, Sanada (new Manik) and James Storm attacked.

(14) Austin Aries beat MVP, Abyss, Mr. Anderson, and Tajiri in a five-way match. Worst match of the night at this point.

(15) Low Ki beat D.J. Zema.

Xplosion Results

(1) Gail Kim beat Brittany.

(2) Austin Aries beat Knux.

(3) Magnus beat The Freak.

The show had a feeling of a funeral at the end with no TV deal in place for Impact. Great fans sitting around me seemed to agree. We'll see if TNA ends up returning for more TV tapings if they get a deal.
