TNA Impact on Thursday, December 12 officially scored a 1.11 rating off a first hour 1.13 rating and second hour 1.09 rating.

Impact peaked with a 1.19 rating at the top of the second hour for Dixie Carter's in-ring segment with Jeff Hardy and Magnus, but Impact fell off the remainder of the show.

In the second hour, the show went from a 1.19 rating to a 1.03 rating to a show-low 1.02 rating to a 1.12 rating for the finish of the "Feast or Fired" main event.

Impact Break Down

Q1: Impact opened with a 1.09 rating for a segment featuring a variety of items, including Kurt Angle and Bobby Roode brawling again. Plus, one commercial.

Q2: Impact reversed the recent pattern of declining from the Q1 rating by increasing to a 1.15 rating for Bad Influence vs. Joseph Park & Eric Young and one commercial.

Q3: Impact increased slightly to a first-hour-high 1.16 rating for Sting and Ethan Carter III's in-ring confrontation, one commercial, and Gail Kim's Open Challenge answered by ODB and then Madison Rayne.

Q4: Impact fell slightly to a 1.13 rating for more Rockstar Spud videos and two full commercial breaks.

Q5: Impact got a top-of-the-hour bump to a show-high 1.19 rating for Dixie Carter bringing out Jeff Hardy and Magnus to hype their TNA Title tournament match next week, plus one commercial.

Q6: Impact dropped 14 percent following Carter's segment to a 1.03 rating for an unhyped X Division Title match, plus one commercial.

Q7: Impact fell slightly to a show-low 1.02 rating for various backstage, video, and non-wrestling segments, plus one commercial that eventually led to the main event.

Q8: Impact rebounded to a 1.12 rating for the Feast or Fired main event and one mid-match commercial.

Caldwell's Analysis: The key to the whole show was Q2 not following the usual pattern of starting the post-"Cops" decline for Impact. Based on this break in the pattern, TNA should start putting their best hype at the very end of Q1 leading to commercial so that the Cops audience is intrigued-enough to stick around for the rest of the hour and perhaps the entire show. The second hour wasn't as fortunate, though, with the Q6 drop-off mimicking the usual Q2 drop-off.
