Hulk Hogan says he's in favor of the letters "T-N-A" being removed from the company name, but he's not sure how it will ultimately turn out.

"Actually, the name has changed to Impact now. You'll see that this week," Hogan said on the Right After Wrestling satellite radio show Monday.

Host Arda Ocal followed up: "So, is that a permanent change, like TNA does not exist as of Thursday?"

"Brother, I am one of the many cooks in the kitchen," Hogan said, making it sound like a decision hasn't been made yet on the extent of TNA's re-branding.

Hogan continued: "I personally thought it was a good idea because every time I went in a business meeting, the first five minutes of the business meeting, I would say, 'I'm with TNA Wrestling.' And they would look at me. 'No, it's not tits and ass. It's Total Nonstop Action.' So, every time I had a business meeting, the first five or ten of 15 minutes, you'd have to explain yourself. For business reasons, I think it's a great - very good - idea to change.

"I'm dealing with some really upfront businesses that are national companies that I'm doing some other work with. I'm talking to them about some sponsorships and stepping in. It's much easier when you don't have to explain TNA - it's not tits and ass."

Hogan also discussed TNA dropping the six-sided ring in favor of a standard ring last year. He said it was partly his idea and partly Eric Bischoff's idea, while Vince Russo "hated it already." Hogan said he believes the six-sided ring prevented TNA from taking the next step.

"The six-sided ring was great for all those 'TNA, TNA,' guys who wanted to keep TNA in the small studio. But, if you really want to ramp things up and take this on the road and do this thing the right way, wrestling is meant to be done in a squared circle. So, I was all for it," he said.

Keller's Quick Analysis: Via Twitter.com/Keller_Wade - I agree with Hogan about "TNA" letters being a burden to partnerships, but not his nonsense about the six-sided ring. Hogan says he really wants to dump T-N-A letters and explains why. Good explanation and I totally agree. But, Hogan's idea that a six-sided ring or four-sided ring is a difference-maker is head-scratching. However you felt, not on Top 100 list of problems.

Caldwell's Analysis: Hogan's comments confirm what was already clear - TNA isn't on the same page with the re-branding, as evidenced by the mixed signals from TNA people on Twitter, TNA announcing a re-branding at a TV taping, and not issuing a press release ahead of time getting out a clear, unified message and vision. The re-branding effort won't make a difference since TNA's house still doesn't have a foundation to stand on, but they need to make it clear to their fanbase what the changes are.
