TNA wrestler Mr. Anderson says TNA has banned unprotected chair shots to the head.

"TNA has absolutely thrown down the gauntlet and said no more unprotected chair shots," Anderson told Brian Fritz on the "Between the Ropes" radio show this week.

Anderson continued: "Every time there is a chair involved in the ring, the agents will come up and say please make sure for me that you are not going to ... that you're going to put your hand up. Please tell me you're going to put your hand up or it's going to be a back shot or something like that."

Anderson reportedly suffered a concussion taking a chair shot to the back of the head from Jeff Hardy at the TNA Impact tapings last month. Anderson has missed two sets of house shows, the most recent TV tapings, and is expected to miss this Sunday's Turning Point PPV as a precautionary measure.

"The chair shot that I received from Jeff Hardy was not intended to hit the back of my head," Anderson said. "I heard through the grapevine that there were some people who were concerned about that. That was an accident and, you know what, in our business, accidents are going to happen. Sometimes you're going to get a boo-boo and things are going to hurt."

Caldwell's Analysis: This should have been "news" months and months ago. Even then-ROH World champion Tyler Black came out months ago saying the ROH locker room agreed no more chair shots to the head. Despite Anderson discussing the positive "news," the idea of "getting your hands up" to block a chair shot does not solve the problem. No one in TNA should be asked to deliver a weapon shot anywhere near the head. Period. End of story.
