Ric Flair says TNA will be building to a match between him and Kurt Angle down the road.

Angle returned from a one-month hiatus last week on Impact to begin a "quest" to have the best matches of his career. Flair talked up Angle during an interview on the U.K. Sun's WrestleCast podcast hyping the potential match.

"Kurt is really good. Is he better than me? No. He's better than me now, but not when I was 35! Angle vs. Flair will happen, we've already got it cooking," Flair said.

Flair also talked about his decision to come out of "WWE retirement" to work in Australia with Hulk Hogan last year, then join TNA. He says he called Shawn Michaels, who "retired" him at WrestleMania 24, but did not call Vince McMahon about the TNA decision.

"I thought about it long and hard and then I called Shawn - I didn't call Vince - just to see how he felt about it," Flair said. "Wrestling is wrestling. I had a magic moment with Shawn, but he knew I missed the business and wanted to be involved.

Flair is justifying his decision to return to wrestling by saying the street fight he had with Randy Orton after his retirement was his "coming out of retirement" match.

"I'd already gone back in WWE and wrestled Randy Orton one time in a street fight," Flair said. "There's a double standard there and I felt like I was out of retirement anyway."
