The Team 3D Wrestling Academy issued a press release today officially announcing TNA has signed one of their students, Mary-Kate Duignan a/k/a Betsy Ruth, to a Knockouts contract.
Ruth had a try-out match with TNA Knockout Daffney at the TNA Impact tapings last month. It's worth noting Daffney was injured during the try-out match. Apparently TNA saw something in Ruth, as she was signed to a deal despite Daffney's injury.
Team 3D's wrestling academy has now helped five wrestlers obtain WWE or TNA contracts, including Rob Terry and Jesse Neal in TNA. The official press release on Ruth's signing is below:
The Team 3D Academy of Professional Wrestling and Sports Entertainment is proud to announce the signing of a fifth student to a major company, Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA) has just signed Mary-Kate Duignan (p/k/a Rosie Lottalove / Betsy Ruth).
The Team 3D Academy was opened in May of 2007 and prides itself on having trained some of the best young talent in professional wrestling today. Mary-Kate was one of the original students of the academy, eventually graduating and applying her skills on the Florida Independent wrestling scene as well as the Dominican Republic.
Mary-Kate Duignan follows in the footsteps of fellow Team 3D Academy graduates Jesse Neal and “The Freak” Rob Terry in joining the TNA Roster. TNA Wrestling can be seen every Thursday night from 9-11pm on Spike TV. These three students can be seen along side the likes of such stars as Team 3D, A.J. Styles, Sting and Hulk Hogan.
Patrick Brink and Tavita Fafita were both signed to World Wrestling Entertainment under their developmental brand Florida Championship Wrestling( FCW). Tavita, now known as Donny Marlow, can be seen on their weekly television show on Brighthouse Sports Network every Sunday.
