According to a report by the Tampa (Fla.) Tribune, Bubba the Love Sponge made a veiled threat to TNA president Dixie Carter this morning that she will "feel the wrath of Bubba."

Bubba (Todd Clem) was fired by TNA on Friday following a profanity-laced tirade against former TNA Knockout Awesome Kong on a local Tampa radio station's Cowhead show.

The Tribune reports that Bubba called his firing a "knee-jerk reaction" during his radio show this morning. In addition to making the threat to Carter, Bubba tried to save face by saying he was "probably better off" not being in TNA.

Cowhead issued a statement today defending Bubba. Cowhead, apparently unaware that Kong no longer works for TNA, said he was "shocked by the hypocrisy" of TNA allowing Kong to stay with TNA.

Caldwell's Analysis: This was expected from Bubba. He had to put up a front on his radio show to save face after his TNA showed some moxy with a very rare public firing of a TNA talent. Perhaps Hulk Hogan got in his head talking him up as a heat magnet in the Impact Zone when it was clearly go-away heat, but he's coming across like he thinks he's a bigger deal than he actually was in TNA.
