TNA wrestler Desmond Wolfe said an interview with the U.K. Sun that he's satisfied with joining TNA rather than WWE because he doesn't think he would have had the same opportunity in WWE to wrestle someone like Kurt Angle right off the bat in TNA.

Wolfe did not talk about why he did not sign with WWE in October 2009, but WWE's side of the story was that Wolfe did not pass an initial physical, which allowed TNA to scoop up Wolfe after WWE removed its initial contract offer.

"Maybe if I went to WWE, I wouldn't have had the same opportunity as I had here. Who gets to wrestle Kurt Angle in that kind of a strong situation that I've been in?" Wolfe said.

Wolfe, who wrestled two PPV matches against Angle, had a quote about Angle's in-ring ability that would seem innocuous in any other form of entertainment or sport other than pro wrestling.

"He's just a machine. He'll keep going until he drops dead," Wolfe said.

Wolfe added that he enjoys the TNA locker room because he believes the wrestlers are on the same page trying to push TNA to the next level. A.J. Styles had similar comments in the same interview with the Sun.

"I'm really happy to be here. It's a real family environment. It seems like everybody is onboard," Wolfe said. "Some people might have a different opinion on certain things, but everybody ultimately is on the same page. To a certain extent, it gives you a sense of security that if you're a company guy, then they're going to take care of me."

Caldwell's Analysis: One thing to consider about Wolfe's first quote is whether it's more beneficial to a wrestler's career to be in a mid-card program on Raw or Smackdown in front of 3.5 to 5.5 million viewers or working with Kurt Angle in front of 1.5 to 2.0 million viewers. Of course, if TNA blows up and starts drawing viewers close to the 3.0 million viewer range, then Wolfe could be part of something big as a potential main-eventer on a national TV wrestling show that's drawing in WWE's league. Right now, it comes down to what a wrestler values with his career choice.
