TNA News: A look at Hulk Hogan's schedule in November - potential TNA starting dates and Australian Tour commitments Nov 2, 2009 - 1:31:18 PM
Hulk Hogan is not expected to be at this week's TNA Impact tapings today and tomorrow in Orlando, Fla. as Hogan is out promoting his new book. TNA is simply advertising that Hogan will "influence" the Nov. 15 Turning Point PPV on this week's Impact, which will be taped today.
Torch reader Eric C. asked, "How can Hogan begin in TNA and be on the 'Hulkamania' tour in Australia at the end of this month?"
Depending on when TNA determines Hogan's official role with the promotion, he could appear at the earliest on the Impact tapings scheduled for November 16 and 17 before the Australian tour. Hogan could also appear on the Impact tapings that immediately follow the tour. TNA and Hogan have some flexibility with the schedule since the Australian tour falls in between two sets of TV tapings.
Hogan will be "testing out his sea legs" in Australia to determine if he can wrestle again. He likely wouldn't have a match in TNA until the end of 2009 or the beginning of 2010 depending on how the tour goes. That could also determine Hogan's official role in TNA, as well as his official "start time" as an on-air character.
The following is the schedule of TNA and Hogan events in the month of November.
Sunday, Nov. 15 - TNA Turning Point PPV
Monday, Nov. 16 - Impact taping
Tuesday, Nov. 17 - Impact taping
Saturday, Nov. 21, Tuesday, Nov. 24, Thursday, Nov. 26, and Saturday, Nov. 28 - Hogan's Australian Tour
Monday, Nov. 30 - Impact taping
Tuesday, December 1 - Impact taping
Caldwell's Analysis: TNA and the Hogan/Bischoff side put together this deal very quickly to make a big splash around the time of Hogan's book coming out, so I don't think anyone is in a rush to get Hogan on TV. Both sides want to allow people to chew on the news story for a bit before coming back with a major storyline for Hogan. Hogan is concerned about his legacy based on the interviews he's done. It has to be the right storyline and the right players before Hogan green-lights a return to TV as an on-air character. The most-likely scenario is that we won't see Hogan in the Impact Zone until after the Australian Tour.
