TNA News: Hulk Hogan and Dixie Carter comment on Hogan joining TNA Wrestling Oct 27, 2009 - 2:29:50 PM
Hulk Hogan's role in TNA will be "announced in the near future," but Hulk Hogan said at a press conference today in New York City that he hopes he can help TNA jump "to the next level" in the pro wrestling industry.
"I'm thrilled to be jumping back into the world of professional wrestling," Hogan said. “My fans have been asking me to return to the business for many years on a full time basis, but the timing or the opportunity has never been right until now. TNA Wrestling is a great company with an already excellent fan base and business. I firmly believe now is the time for TNA to jump to the next level in their development and I’m here to help make that a reality."
TNA president Dixie Carter talked up Hogan being a "pop culture icon" and "the biggest superstar" in pro wrestling history.
"Our goal is to become the biggest professional wrestling company in the world," Carter said. "Hulk defines professional wrestling and we look forward to partnering with him in a variety of ways as we continue to grow TNA worldwide."
"Worldwide" is the key from Carter's quote. Hogan is scheduled for a Hulkamania Tour of Australia in November, then TNA will be touring Australia a few months later in February/March 2010. No word on whether a partnership has been established for the tour.
